Pakistan's cyber security is shit. Many government websites don't even have the basic Https protocol. That is just tip of the iceberg.
But then you see government enacting strict application of its cyber crime laws to censor political dissent.

Elements inside the government are selling data commercially illegally.

The digital Pakistan harvester is a threat to national security

Pakistan's cyber doctrine is in shambles.

I deeply worry about the state of Pakistan's vulnerablity to crippling cyberattacks by sophisticated foreign actors when gov't does not have the functional ability to tackle even basic domain threats such as defacing gov't websites.

Whoever made Pakistan's cybercrime bill has no clue what cybercrime actually is.

What people in Pakistan think is cybercrime is actually online harassment and has almost nothing in common with actual real cybercrime that involves large scale hacking, phishing, and sophisticated intelligence operations where organized hackers or state actors break in, steal or disrupt digital infrastructure to gain information, ransom, or leverage over another party.

Pakistan is extremely underprepared for any kind of large scale cyberattack, I wish there was even an iceberg to hit, but in Pakistan's case, our cyber doctrine is like being lost in an ocean without GPS.

Having no cohesive national cyber strategy is criminally negligent and a threat to Pakistan's national security.

We are in deep shit. Stay tuned.

If gov't has any brain at all, it will immediately demand Google to remove these apps, otherwise we are doomed if gov't cannot do even this much.

Any youtubers on this forum who can create awareness ? Who handes Defence.pk's youtube ? Maybe he can start 🤔
I may not need to read it.

Its been 12 months of me saying privacy laws needs addressing before 5G roll outs.

Everybody just curses me for trolling
Bro I have been following a duo of indian hackers who have been exploiting our unprotected websites... stealing all kind of data...

And those websites are mainly targeted as they are pretty much kids work for someone with basic knowledge..

Every week, cybersecurity experts openly publish new security exploits for anyone to see in the hope that they will be patched but usually this takes months if not years. In many cases, there are actually instructions on how to exploit the loophole in these reports. In other words, a mildly tech literate kid with some low level computer knowledge could easily replicate these exploits just by following some basic instructions online from any one of hundreds of cybersecurity reports floating around on the internet. Literally anyone can download and read these reports and use the exploit themselves to target whatever they want as long as they use a relatively recent exploit that has not been patched yet.

Iran is famous for doing this, they will literally use any publicly published exploits they can find by digging through hundreds of US cybersecurity reports to find good exploits hit their enemies with because they know many countries have infamously weak cybersecurity and neglect it. Recently, Iranians have been getting really good at it, now they have been able to target and break into digital infrastructure of several Israeli companies and even conduct a few SCADA cyberattacks. Iranians have also gotten really good at making their own exploits which is clear in how successful they have gotten in planting backdoors in US companies and creating sophisticated spear phishing bait operations. Iranians have also embarrassed Saudis with multiple sophisticated cyberattacks such as Shamoon cyberattack that disk nuked Aramco servers and on one occasion even managed to successfully hack, land, and reverse engineer a US RQ-170 drone just by reading the manual and realizing they could spoof the GPS to make it land at the nearest airbase in Iran.

Pakistan needs to be at least on Iran's level of cyberwarfare or better if we are going to become India's nightmare. It's not impossible but it will take a lot of work and that's putting it kindly.

There is absolutely no notion of what can a determined enemy ( india and get friends) with properly trained cyber warfare capabilities can do to us without firing a single bullet.
