A member of the Nato-led forces has been shot dead by a man wearing an Afghan army uniform, military officials say.

The assailant was also killed during the attack, which took place in southern Afghanistan, they added.

An investigation is under way to determine if the man had links to insurgents.

This year has seen a sharp rise in so-called insider attacks in Afghanistan against local forces and Nato troops.

RIP... These events will keep on happening till American forces leave afghanistan. This shows that america doesnot have control in afghanistan as the year 2012 saw many attacks including attacks on the head quarters called Kabul.
