Previous Ranking 2018-2020
A ranking of the world’s foremost military powers taking into account a wide variety of factors and using a precise formula to rate countries by their warfighing capabilities. Over 50 different factors are considered in determining each country’s position. Quantities of armaments, while important, are hardly the only factors determining a country’s military capabilities or its ranking. Training, combat readiness, overseas military bases, defensive infrastructure and fortifications are some of the many other assets considered which can and often do prove decisive in the outcome of a war. Outstanding strengths of each particular country, if any, are noted to give an indication as to the assets each party will be most likely to rely on to achieve victory.

Strategic and tactical nuclear capabilities, due to the extreme caution with which they must be deployed and states’ general refrain from using such weapons, are considered a limited asset rather than the decisive game changer they would be if employed freely. Nuclear powers are marked accordingly in the right hand column. Due to their highly secretive nature, biological warfare capabilities are not taken into consideration.

As well as ranking states numerically, military powers are also divided into six tiers based on the league in which their military capabilities lie. Those countries in the same tier can be considered near peer adversaries, while countries in lower tiers would struggle to wage war on those in higher ones unsupported.

Links to further information for each country’s aerial, naval and ground warfare capabilities are given below their names.

Ay my man Kim has SSBN's, we don't.

Mate they dont even have subs just bunch of underwater bogies which are steered mechanically. Also their missile tech is highly questionable considering even after decades of development their SRBM and IRBM fail miserably during practice launches. Remember the fiasco with our Ghauri series missile which had severe shortfalls after we imported few from NKorea. It took another 6 years just to get it working with several modifications including propulsion and navigation.

Turkey has a pretty solid domestic arms industry ... Vietnam is basically only dated Russian weaponry.

North Korea is ahead of France, Iran almost on par with the UK, Algeria is stronger than Turkey, Italy and Syria are almost on the same level.

Lmao
Never trust military strength rankings ... they are all complete clickbait.
