Modern societies and nation states don't work that way. A Mesud/Waziri state within the state of Pakistan is not acceptable. They are not entitled to any privileges that other citizens of Pakistan lack.

You can blame Musharraf all you like, but he did the right thing by denying the Americans a pretext for attack (on Pakistan).
These tribal pashtuns and their supporters over here and on social media are living exam of cognitive dissonance.

On one had they want all the perks and privileges of being a part of Pakistan but at the same time want their own system of governance with no state interference .. LOL...

They should be happy that Musharraf actually saved their asses ... If it was not for Musharraf ,,,,, American bombers would have stream rolled FATA and KPK to no end,

The people who are talking against the tribal people and calling them suicide bombers must also observe how the country has failed to provide quality education and job opportunities. Lack of education is one of the major reasons why people are so easily attracted to commitin such acts by believing the words of those traitors and dual faced people who work for money. Due to illiteracy people are fooled into believing these terrorists.

Same can be said for Balochistan. What have the successive governments done to free the tribal people of these Dollar loving mullahs and local leaders? Only quality education and economic development can help eliminate terrorism. (Talking as a Punjabi)
It is all due to lack of awareness and illiteracy.

They have always rwmained autonomous. You dont know abt tje area but they hate TTP too and consider TTP as something encouraged by Pakistan army. Pakistan did use those areas against USSR and against USA. Provided funding to madrassahs and creating foot soldiers. The military operations further created hatred.
Also if u believe and agree with ur ex gora master then im sorry u r not independent but still a mere puppet n mental slave of gora saab. Mistakes have been made on both sides and u cannot blame a whole race or caste. They have fought for kashmir too and been ur foot soldiers in Afghanistan for decades.
There is a need to deal with the area carefully and cautiously. Increasing hatred will only give enemies a situation to exploit.
Musharraf was scumbag who even sold Pakistanis to americans, and all his policies caused extremism. TTP created because of him, and only blind and utter morons would think his policy was any good. We are still reaping the hatred that he sowed. Stop thinking and acting like RSS monkeys.
LOL at the bolded part ....

You either are autonomous or a part of Pakistan ...Pick one...No special accommodations for you people.

They don't hate TTP ...Stop lying and if they think TTP is encouraged by Pak army then they must have a negative IQ.

Military operations happened because you guys won't stop blowing yourself up in cities of Pakistan.

You don't have to agree with gora saab in order to reach a conclusion. We can see with our very own eyes the amount of damage these tribal pashtuns have caused. Stop being a ethno-fascit cunt and see the truth.

Musharraf only sold foreign terrorists. He didn't sell any innocent Pakistani ... Stop lying.

His policies didn't cause extremism .. It was your tribal pastuns that gave shelter to foreign terrorists that blew shit up. Mushraaf was forced act because of daily terrorism caused by your tribal people. TTP is a coward anyway and a great example of how you guys can only kill fellow citizens. You can't do shit to America because they will retaliate in a very ruthless manner. You exploit the benevolence of ordinary pakistanis.

It is more like we Pakistani are actually opening our eyes and seeing how racist and full of hatred you guys are. Your terrorism and ethno chavinism has no limits.

LOL... Another false trope.

On one had these tribal people want no state interference and want independence and on other hand they want state to provide education and jobs....

Balochistan is a no go zone for any non balochi... non balochis teachers have been regularly killed. Allah will not change the future of a group of people until they themselves decide to change it themselves.

Their own baloch leaders are not sincere with them. Attaullah mengal and other top mengals drive rolls royce ,,, have several wives and concubines to **** , send their kids to elite foreign schools but won't spend a penny on other baloch people but the amusing thing is that these dumb baloch would still kiss their sardars *** despite their sardars abusing them lol..

Unfortunately this thread has shown that how nascent we are and underdeveloped our thoughts are as a nation. We still haven't been able to understand each other's problems nor compromise to accommodate. Awareness and critical thinking is still missing, economic disparity still present ethnic problems still common, this all shows that we are not mature enough and hence not ready to take on challenges. Instead of accepting mistakes, correcting them and moving on; we stand there, fight a pointless blame game and end up wasting our time without reaching a reasonable solution. As a result we have achieved neither economic progress nor homogeneity; neither have we been able to produce an educated and responsible public nor choose path to move on and instead keep shifting from one policy to another, from one bloc to another and from one ally to another.
This also shows that we ( as public; though fortunately our establishment has) have learned nothing from 71 and are inclined to repeating the same mistakes which might end up in another great loss followed by a yet another blame game. It is time that we forgoe our past, ascertain a direction as a nation and work instead of talk ; but for this we have to change our education system first and inculcate in our young generation a sense of responsibility, tolerance, discipline and pragmatism instead of just teaching them to acquire a job and to earn money irrespective of the source.

This is a nation with a GDP ten times larger than Pakistan, supported in a theatre by the premier international military alliance, and one of the better indigenous defense production capabilities out there. Moreover, the United Kingdom and other allied forces still found themselves repeatedly on the defensive with IEDs and ambushes, because fighting an asymmetrical enemy with a symmetrical conventional army is the security equivalent of playing Whack-A-Mole.
While the above may be true however there is an important point you are missing and that is UK and allied forces were fighting on foreign soil where as whats happening here is inside Pakistan within our own territory. You cannot compare the two situations. Had the same been happening lets say inside US or UK, than the above example would have been true however the circumstances the allied forces were facing versus what we are facing are entirely different and hence cannot be compared.

Please tell us how was it the country's responsibility to provide quality education and job opportunities to the people who didn't pay taxes and who refused to be a part of the country? .. We still had quotas for tribal Pashtuns in universities across the country ..in jobs as well

People of Hunza are among the most literate and educated people in Pakistan despite the fact that they too were outside the tax net and Pakistan govt didn't do anything for them. Remaining regressive and then being proud of it is a matter of choice for some. The entire country has suffered because of this. From organized crime syndicates to terrorists, erstwhile FATA had been a safe haven for all criminals

After FATA's merger with KP, the govt. announced a 100 billion annual package for development of FATA and no one objected to it. Hundreds of Pakistanis have sacrificed their lives defending the tribal areas. Don't know what else you expect from the people of Pakistan

Not all of tribal areas are like that. People of Bajaur fought alongside pakistan army against ttp. Same for many in Mohmand agency

It is only these waziristani swines who need to be ruthlessly killed for the crimes they have committed against Pakistan and its people
I met one person from Khyber Agency 2 years ago. He was an old man in his late 60s. He told me that they are sick of Waziristanis as most of them comprised of kidnappers and looters as they have no other means of earning money except these things.

Is it just me or are the "omar" rockets used by TTP in SWA just reskinned Aresh rockets?
No not Umer rockets they had only one test launch when TTP was stronger than its now.
They don't have materials or expertise to produce them now.

Unfortunately TTP has safe havens in Afg, now protected by the Taliban even though officially Taliban say they will not allow their territory to be used for terror attacks, but the reality is TTP will not stop their terror attacks. There wont be an easy solution to this.

ABSOLUTELY WRONG
UK went in trouble during surge later in 2010 in helmend and got the MRAP within 3 years

We have insurgency for 20 years..
Our defense budget is 10b$ so quit yepping about gdp
I fail to see how this constitutes an effective rebuttal. The surge in 2010 does not preclude the occurrence of IED and similar attacks pre-2010. It just means they were stepped up. Even if we took your claim at face value, the fact that it took three years for a country with far greater resources to get MRAPs into the field effectively makes your argument largely a moot point because it would mean that there is nothing that the Army Senior Command could do in the more immediate term vis-a-vis MRAPS.

Yes, and that insurgency for 20 years has contributed heavily to bleeding Pakistan's economy and budget near dry. On the subject of budgets itself, yes, Pakistan may have a $10bn budget but all budgets are allocated spend. Off the top of my head, I would estimate around half of that would be personnel costs, with the rest split up for various forms of maintenance. A smaller portion would probably be set aside for planned acquisitions (decided on many years in advance). There would be very little spare cash for emergency purchases, especially in the numbers that would be required for MRAPs in the way many members envision them to be.

Better delay a squardon of thunders and buy a few hundred MRAPs

PTM works on fault lines
Fault lines created during last 15 yrs of drones and military op..

On twitter they support drones but on ground they tell people it was pak army who joined USA to kill ordinary people
Delaying the acquisition of Thunders would technically be in the domain of the Pakistan Air Force and not the Army. Considering institutional rivalry is par for the course everywhere, I doubt the PAF would make such a sacrifice for the Army, considering the institutional envy other branches already have for it. One practical issue aside is that delaying acquisitions of fighter jets, particularly ones made domestically, carries certain commercial consequences as you have to essentially cancel industrial preparations you had already made. You can't just hit a button on these things.

In the case that such a deal could be made, one really needs to think about the trade-offs: you are putting national security at a serious strategic backfoot against India (the main strategic enemy in Pakistan's doctrine) for a tactical benefit in the field against the secondary strategic enemy.

Those sort of fault lines are common in an insurgency as you end up having collateral damage (and often the insurgent will pull you into creating it to build resentment in the populace). The insurgent can do a Mad Jack Churchill every night but when a counter-insurgent force acts in populated areas, it has to do so with care and precision. Ergo, it has to find the needle in the haystack whereas the insurgent can blow up the haystack and the barn with it. Once you lose the populace, you lose the war.
