Sleepers are "use them and lose them". Every time sleeper cells are activated his or her entire support structure is compromised. Its notable that the enemy is concentrating on isolated units and not shifting to urban terrorism (and may that never happen). It means they have lost capacity.
Many members are forgetting the whole battalions cut of and surrendering (7 Baloch) and whole companies getting wiped out.
Towns being lost and won and lost again. It was a pitless war. In 2014 this wouldn't even have made the fucking news.
We should not dwell on our successes.

The sleeper cell market is a strategic nightmare if conflict drags on longer in the desired zone.

Pakistan should stop providing amnesty to leaders and provide amnesty to foot soldiers many of whom have no escape from their deprived reality.

What is the personal motivation for these militants? It is too simplistic to assume that they are mindless drones who follow the bidding of external entities without a care for personal safety and wellbeing.

Pakistan also needs to start getting tough with Afghan taliban too. All the TTP leadership including that scum noor wali mehsud is in Afghanistan

Now any sensible leadership and country would do the following after this attack

1. Shut down the border completely for all kind of movement
2. No food or any kind of aid
3. No recognition both from Pakistan itself and even China

Till Taliban leadership either eliminates TTP leadership itself or hands them over to Pakistani state

But I am pretty sure clowns ruling Pakistan won't do anything like that
As I said before

Pakistan won't shut down the border even though right now Afghanistan is totally dependent on Pakistan for everything

And this is the reason Pakistani soldiers would continue to die in Waziristan

Simple money.... There was a time... Once they used to attack our posts... The first wave used to go take 5000 per man, second wave 2000 and so on.... So whoever wanted more money used to choose first wave..... Those who used to be caught, used to tell us that in the darkness, their handlers used to tell them that they are actually attacking US posts etc...

A general uprising among the tribes will not be controllable even with a million armed men in the boderlands. A scalpel needs to be applied not the sledgehammer. Our enemies want us to use a sledgehammer and then put us in front of ICJ and other HR orgs. Dont fall for the trap. We are a strong and resilient country.
Then Pakistan should switch to non Kinetic means. How about a blockade? Cut off electricity, water and gas supply, internet and cell phone connection. Nothing goes in, nothing goes out. No medical supplies no food nothing.

Some morons here suggest killing ppl of the area, while govt allows afghans who abuse Pakistan daily. Why not grow a pair and kick them out first?
Also the racist idiots here need to realize there was a brutal military operation in Waziristan. I have witnessed military ops and i know how cruel and generalistic they can get. It creates immense hatred for army among the locals. I have seen myswlf how innocent ppl were killed in ops and it all have an effect. The same effect have caused hatred among ppl of Waziristan. Its still not that bad but if we act harshly on all, it will increase hatred. We need to identify the specific fasaadis and eliminate them. We need to remove all refugees and not allow anymore.
No innocent civilians should be killed/harmed in any way. Terrorists, their facilitators and sympathizers should be eliminated.

Innocent people do get killed in wars, unfortunately. Tens of Thousands of innocent civilians and security personnel have died all across Pakistan, what's special about 2 innocent Waziristanis dying in the same war? ...

Waziristan tribes have a misplaced sense of entitlement/superiority, and that is the root cause of all problems. Waziristan people have never experienced the imposition of any form of central rule, they are averse to any form of modern government/rule of law. They claim that Waziristan was never meant to be a part of Pakistan

Over a hundred years ago, Lord Curzon said this about "Waziristan Problem":

“No patchwork scheme – and all our present recent schemes, blockade, allowances, etc, are mere patchwork – will settle the Waziristan problem. Not until the military steam-roller has passed over the country from end to end, will there be peace. But I do not want to be the person to start that machine.”

Wish he had done what Musharraf was forced to do ultimately, a hundred years later. The state of Pakistan had no intention of interfering in Waziristan had Waziristan not started exporting problems/terrorism to other regions.

5000 PKR or is it USD? If it is just PKR, then the Pakistani Government could easily pay them this sum or perhaps even employ them in PA. It is surprising to hear that such a paltry sum could convince people to throw away their life and family.

The silver lining though is that economic opportunities would easily sway people away from this self destruction.

Those were dark times.
RIP to those who died.
Not to sound condescending or insulting, but shouldn't these capabilities been built a long time ago? Late than never, but then how long will it take?.

Not to mention we still haven't seen MRAPs....
Just feels like we're on a back foot.

True, but in the age of end-to-end encryption, it becomes very hard.
Plus, have you seen the state of cyber security in this country? Or cyber warfare capabilities? It's awful.
Some IS members were killed in an IBO when their Telegram group was hacked into ,it was a very famous incident .
