Mahathir, Rouhani, Imran, Erdogan likely to visit Dhaka
    D-8 summit in May 30-31
    Shahidul Islam Chowdhury | Published: 00:15, Feb 14,2020 | Updated: 00:18, Feb 14,2020

Top leaders of eight countries are highly likely to be in Dhaka on May 30 and 31 for joining a summit meeting of D-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation, a group of eight Muslim-majority developing countries.

The Malaysian government has formally confirmed the visit of its prime minister Mahathir Mohamad, and several countries have also informally confirmed that their heads of the government would join the summit, diplomatic sources said.

Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey are members of the organisation, also known as Developing-8.

The government will also send invitations to Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Indonesian president Joko Widodo, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani, Malaysian president Mahathir Mohamad, Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari, Pakistan prime minister Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi and Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan to visit Bangladesh, officials said.

Foreign ministers of the member countries are also expected to join a council meeting before the summit set for May 30.

The D-8 leaders are likely to visit Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar on May 31.

Developing-8 was established in 1997, with its headquarters in Istanbul. Its objectives are to improve member states’ position in the global economy, diversity and create new opportunities in trade relations, and enhance participation in decision-making at international level, among others.

    Imran needs to refuse

We can deal with the other countries independently

We need to start treating hostile states with due disrespect

Bangladesh from being Indian lackey from Saarc conferences to cricket needs our disrespect and emnity

Either don't go or send a lesser minister

disagree....given the course india has taken I am very sure that in the next few decades we will see an intense rapprochement between Pakistan and Bangladesh

Small things like the cricket match that happened recently are symptoms of this direction.

Bengali people are fully aware how India has been behaving lately and how it may adversely impact Bangladesh...but this kind of behavior may work in both Pakistan and Bangladesh's favor

DHAKA: Bangladesh on Wednesday pulled out of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) summit to be held in Islamabad, a day after India said it was boycotting the event over a deadly cross-border attack on a military base.

Let's not go around in circles, fcuk the Bengali

That's not a positive mindset to have. Soon you'll be stuck with no one like that and it will not be fun.

They have sent a team despite pressure. And what have we got against them. A trip. Would send them a positive massage and she would be forced to shut down her hate rhetoric. Or would be a good opertunity to lure common bangaldeshi out of Indian sphere and ofcourse talking on kahsmir at this forum would be a thing along with mahatir and erdogan.

Actually you can't compare afghan and bangaldeshi. We have no whatsoever problem with bangaldesh. Except some hate comments here and there. That was too because we leave them into Indian sphere too much. These baby steps of courtesy can help us a lot.
Besides they don't send terroist into Pakistan like Afghanistan do... Etc nor they say we send terrorist etc.
Deosite India's full insistence of an attack in Dhaka to link it with Pakistan, bangaldesh never said a word against Pakistan and said Indian media was lying.

Let's see what happens this time brother. Heads of states of other countries will also be watching.

Let us see of Hasina shows her true self or plays passive-aggressive with Imran Khan.

Mahatir is the only Islamic leader I trust, Erdogan and Rouhani are just snakes and acting hegeimonic in terms of vis a vis with Muslim nations

About Rouhani I understand your problem as he is Shia ( although Shia sunni unity is the key to the success of Muslims, but that's not relevant here) . But what's wrong with Erdogan if may I ask! I believe Erdogan is the new hope of Islamic world!

No, you misunderstood his comment.. this has nothing to do with sectarian crap, he called him a snake because Iranians although are known have been propping up their proxies pawns in the middle east, they unfortunately see Pakistan as a push-over, where they hire mercenaries from to fight their battles, and support Indian terrorist network in our western border. As for Erdogan, his foolishness led to the current on going tragedy in Syria.. His far from being the Muslim saviour, although his voice for Kashmir is appreciated.

He should go. Much as i dislike Hasina and her cronies and their pointless anti Pakistan rants, the set of nations attending include those that can be regarded as friendly. Who knows, maybe her head will be straightened when there is no sanghi attending and it never hurts to make new friends.

Okay understand. Thank you for the explanation.

Don't worry it is on heavy decline and will be vanished and a new dawn is about to start between AL and Pakistan. AL was never anti Pakistan after 1971. It became anti Pakistan because of Bangladeshi political propaganda.

But the propaganda machine is almost useless now. So indeed there will be a new beginning, and the days are nearer.

Wrong. Pakistan has 2nd largest Shia peoples in the world after Iran and nothing to do with sectarian elements. It is more to do with Iran relationship with India and their activities against Pakistan through Iranian soil.
