Noonies are hoping Asim Muneer who was about to retire, is from OTS and also had a pervious run in with PTI, might favor their party because of his selection. Let see.

I think OTS was at full throttle during the First Afghan war, the purpose of fast induction of trained officers in the army. Obviously, it's not the Long course.

There is nothing unusual if a few generals decide calling it a day after the appointment of a new army chief. We shouldn't try to bring far-fetched conclusions. All generals that reach to this level in the army are professionally sound. But at the same time, they are colleagues and, like any other human being, have their own likes and dislikes. If they decide not working under one of their own colleagues, it is just natural. What is special about it?

Yes but they have spent more time in civilian life as they were inducted after bachelors... Easier to brainwash a 16,17,18 year old than a 24 year old... More sympathetic to the life going on outside the cantt in a way.
Yet here we have a short course coas and the only one to lead MI and ISI together... So maybe LC and OTS aren't what makes a good officer. Maybe it's the man/woman.
