    KARACHI: Three days after facing wrath of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar for using cellphone in the courtroom, Larkana Additional District and Sessions Judge Gul Zameer Solangi tendered resignation on Tuesday.

    In a letter submitted to the Sindh High Court (SHC) registrar, Solangi said he was resigning “due to the humiliating behaviour of the top judge” during proceedings in his court “which were widely aired in the electronic, print and social media”.

    Solangi, who had been serving on the post since March last year, added that he was unable to continue serving as a judge after suffering “deep anguish and injury” to his “self-respect and dignity”.

    He requested immediate acceptance of his resignation.

    CJP tosses judge’s cellphone, admonishes him for using it in court

    On Saturday, Justice Nisar picked up and tossed the mobile phone of the sessions judge after admonishing him for using the device during court hours. The incident happened during the CJP’s surprise visit to lower courts in Larkana to observe their proceedings.

    While visiting city court-III, Justice Nisar grabbed the sessions judge’s cellphone and flung it on his table. He then asked the judge about the cases he had heard since the morning. The judge said he had heard three cases since morning. To this, the CJP shot back: “How can we ensure provision of justice when judicial process is so slow?

    “Where are Sindh and Pakistan going? … What are you doing for the cases of missing persons? … Wrap up these cases swiftly,” he added.

    CJP's arrogance was bursting out when he threw his cell way. That judge may be his inferior, but to disgrace him like that was uncalled for. CJP could have coveyed his annoyance in a more subtle manner, but living upto the national trait of Sheepistani's, it's hard to resist the excersice of one's mighty power over subordinates. :agree:
    @Mentee mian, what's your say on the this, may be you witnessed this in person?:whistle:

    Why was he using cellphone in the court room? Rules apply same to everybody. Our court system is extremely corrupt. These judges consider themselves above the Law. Good that CJ showed him his place. The court judge is here to uphold the law not bypass it.

    @Maarkhoor

    Can you please explain
    What was the need for this additional lower court judge to keep smartphone in the court?

    Even if it is talking to his family during hearing it is still unethical, but I'm sure it is there to settle court case monetarily.
    This judge is doing fake topi drama which they always do. The judiciary in Sindh is the most corrupt in the country and this is in Larkana, the worst. All the police officials and judiciary in the district from top to bottom are corrupt to the core.

    Sindh judiciary needs reforms and complete overhaul.

    Aw isnt he sensitive. Sure the Chief Justice could have made his point in a better way but judges are not above the law (as they like to think of themselves) and using phones in court is against basic court etiquette. When non-judicial members of the court are not allowed to use their phones during proceedings, then the same law applies to the judicial members. A doctor does not look at his phone during surgery, to do so would be extremely negligent and disrespectful to his colleagues and the patient. The same principle applies here.

    Media accompanies the chief Justice where ever he goes. cctv's with audio recording are also installed in the court rooms

    Never had done that! But then there's an incident where an additional n sessions judge, monitoring the cctv's, dismissed the reader of a civil judge for using cell fone in the court room even though the presiding judicial officer was not present in the court when the reader was playing with his cell . Hota rehta hai yar - - - - - -.
