would be nice, if you'd ask me, if our dear governments would increase spending on the production of ventilators and PPE (personal protection equipment) for hospitals and doctors, so that maybe next time this happens, we won't have to suffer a casualty count that could easily be higher than what we're seeing in this round of the corona virus..
Flu can mutate, and we should be properly prepared.

Real Time Updates in my neigborhood here in US: people are in a panic mode due to the "2,0000 new cases on a daily basis"
I myself will be heading back to my hometown "Hongkong" as soon as "Possible"

Latest updates: from my buddy working for Houston Chronicle, new cases in US will be close to "180000 within a couple of days" due to much more testing being done

Countries like India where hardly any testing has been done shouldn't even report case numbers, they are meaningless. Just report the number of deaths and using 2% death rate, extrapolate the number of cases. South Korea can provide the best estimate of death rate, since they have tested the largest number of people in proportion to the population. As of today, it was 158 people dead and 9661 infected, which gives us close to 2%.
