PTI's first priority is KPK and Punjab - unless Sindhis also start voting for PTI

Y'all are better off with a karachi centric party that is not ethnic based in nature (cause Karachi s issues can never be solved with an ethnic party)
Nope. Didn’t work for 70 years. Karachi always went against the tide and voted a party not in power in centre.

We need a party that has power over the entire country and that will align Karachi with the rest of it.

Think about this -------

Every ethnicity of Pakistan has their territory marked - Sindhis have Sindh, Baloch have Baluchistan, Punjabis have Punjab and Pashtuns have KP...

It is interesting to note that Pashtuns CHANGED the name of their province from NWFP to Kyber Pakhtunkhuwa....

Point is every ethnicity of Pakistan loves to flaunt their ethnic names right on their territories.

So, I have got news for you....

Urdu Speaking would like to follow the pattern.

We don't have a province yet but we do have or would like to have a political party which represents us on the political spectrum of Pakistan. MQM fits the bill perfect (A middle class party representing Muhajir Youth)...

A Strong Middle Class party representing Urban Sindh is the need of the hour. Urdu Speaking shouldn't/wouldn't compromise on their ethnic representation in all sectors/segments of society.

Current shape of MQM is a bloody joke. Media is making fun of them. They are not being provided level playing field. Their unity is in tatters - broken into different factions. On top of that, the constant boycott calls from Altaf Hussain (MQM London) is taking a toll on MQM and damaging their political efforts.

This SHITSHOW needs to be stopped. Time is running OUT.

Either Altaf should be allowed to make a comeback into Karachi/Pakistani Politics to revive MQM (If Nawaz Sharif and all others are provided an escape route then Altaf also has a right) OR Altaf should be asked / made agreed to announce his successor live on TV....Either way, MQM guys would be relieved as they are currently struggling to operate because MQM street workers consider Karachi leadership as traitor to Altaf. Vote bank belongs to Altaf as said by one Karachi-based journalist.

MQM London network is already active in Karachi, Isn't it?

MQM is just like any other political party - she has her own fair share of faults but also evolving at same time.

MQM factions should be reunited at blitzkrieg speed.

People here in Karachi are SUPER PISSED OFF AT PPP and at the continuous deteriorating civic situation of city. The city needs a POWERFUL LOCAL BODIES which PPP is hesitant to give (has to be snatched from them).

Pakistan has taken Karachi for a ride, seriously. Despite massive contributions to country, we GET nothing in return. We are ruled by a party which we didn't even vote for. We are not given Government jobs as PPP is not following 40:60 quota rule. PTI never raised a voice on PPP's violating quota rule...We have no meaningful representation on Federal level to protect ours and our city's interests...

We are not stupid or people that can be manipulated. We are seeing everything who is who here in Pakistan.

Those who have lived in Karachi, do possess an idea about Urdu Speakers (their mentality and ways of thinking)

We speak bluntly - no nonsense way. Kind hearted and Soft Spoken yet can fight and go all ferocious on opponents. Straight to the point and we achieve our goals. Professionalism is our hallmark - whether it is education or military. Guess what - why all the political movements used to start from Karachi?

If Karachi remains in this situation then PEOPLE WILL be on streets.

IK never focused on Karachi when he was in power. Heck, he didn't even come to Karachi when he was in power but only 1 or 2 times. He just focused on Punjab and KP. He is one opportunistic man just a bit cleaner and more popular than dynastic evils we have.

The upcoming local bodies election should be decisive for Karachi. The city needs a powerful mayor and PPP needs to be told to NOT interfere.

The people of Karachi, have every right to demand their representation and form their political will,
just like anyone else in the country.
However what you are saying is equivalent to, " Colombo is Srilanka's capital thus the concentration of nitrogen is more than oxygen "

Both statements are true but have nothing to do with each other.

A causal relationship is what is required, not a casual relationship.

Wait, didn't MQM ally with the same corrupt establishment a bunch of times?

Wait, didn't PPP ally with the same corrupt establishment a bunch of times?

Wait, didn't PML ally with the same corrupt establishment a bunch of times?

Wait, didn't PTI ally with the same corrupt establishment a bunch of times?

Wait, didn't ANP ally with the same corrupt establishment a bunch of times?

I'm pretty sure I've seen all these parties join the crapshows that come up to rule Pakistan -- dictatorship or democracy. Each time, they carry these big claims ('democracy is the best revenge' and 'Riyasat-e-Madina'), yet never perform. They always have some great gripe against the center, but work with it to continue the same oppression against each region or ethnic group.

It's the same old story on repeat. Every party has failed Pakistan. Every chief sahib has failed Pakistan. Every judge and institution has failed Pakistan. Our society needs to learn to let go of the old guard. They're no good. It's time to discuss an alternative vision of how our society should run and how our country should look like. Better this discourse happen when we have a country than to be a regretful dream.

All parties are either family dynasty or cult of one person. No party is democratic institution. Had the bloody generals not interfered with stopping them midway in 90s circus. The political spectrum today would not have been this worse. Now the same has happened with PTI. They would have easily lost the next election, but thanks to b****** bajwa its the other way round now.

The parties consistently failed but they won every next elections because of shenanigans of GHQ. Now these things are coming to boiling point for normal public due to economic situation.

The system is not the problem. The people running it are. For that there are mechanisms which are absent in Pakistan. And then there are those in Politics which are never meant to be but they are and they want to be in drivers seat.

Urdu speaking people are not a particular ethnicity.. nor Karachi came in their jahaiz.
Karachi belongs to all..

people of Karachi have rejected MQM a long time ago. People of Karachi like Imran khan. We don't want a bloodbath in Karachi again. PPP is useless. They are only eating funds. They are the most corrupt party on this planet.
Urdu Speaking people should settle in different parts of pakistan. Instead of trying to build a self centered identity in 1 or 2 cities. Their is nothing wrong In taking part in politics but not under a new identity that divides the people further.

Interesting opinion.

This is what everyone has just observed here in Karachi.

Everyone is looking out for only one-selves...

Pakistan seems to be a lost cause. There is just no will in upper echelon of elite to improve things.

Meanwhile Indians and Bengalis won right in front of us...They are far ahead than us now.

What a bloody shame!

I do not think Urdu speaking is an ethnicity. It's just a language.

I used the term Muhajirs as well...

If they are following that kind of absurd logic then they should know Karachi is located in sindh and belong to sindhis. If they looking for a land where their kind belong then they should request India to give them a separate country in bihar.

No Karachiite has ever raised objection on Sindh Province but the ones who rule the province....

Half of the province is down in waters...Waderas treat their Sindhi people like shit...

If you think we will also allow them to treat Karachi or Urdu Speakers in a same way - YOU ARE SERIOUSLY MISTAKEN.

Absolute BS. Entire Pakistan from KP to Karachi have dumped regional ethnic thugs and have voted from the national party.

PTI has won seats from KPK defeating the ethno-fascist ANP, in Punjab defeating the “jaag Punjabi jaag” ethno-fascist and in Karachi defeating the ethno-fascists MQM.

The OP is a racist.

PS.: like Areesh I am also an Urdu speaking Karachiite.

What you read were mental gymnastics of a racist.

It is very easy to label anyone as a racist....Ask that fool Khan to put more focus on Karachi.

I am not denying his popularity here in Karachi but what I said is true as well.

Karachi is in shit because of lack of powerful representation of Urdu Chaps in upper echelon of Islamabad and Pindi.

End the love affair with MQM, it'll lead you nowhere but hell

JI is a better alternative and then PTI

Jamat is very visible and has hard working chaps. It is also growing in popularity. Still, MQM is needed, I believe.

You cannot ask people to stop following someone unless you come to know the reason why that following exists at all...

Dissolve the provinces and cut their ethnic names...Then ask Urdu Chaps to stop following MQM....Lead from example, dude.

PTI's first priority is KPK and Punjab - unless Sindhis also start voting for PTI

Y'all are better off with a karachi centric party that is not ethnic based in nature (cause Karachi s issues can never be solved with an ethnic party)

One Musharraf type of guy is what we all need to straighten Karachi out. Karachi voted in huge numbers to Khan yet got ignored...

Karachi issues are ethnic in nature...Urdu Speakers were promised 40% Government jobs yet that commitment is not being fulfilled.

The people of Karachi, have every right to demand their representation and form their political will,
just like anyone else in the country.
However what you are saying is equivalent to, " Colombo is Srilanka's capital thus the concentration of nitrogen is more than oxygen "

Didn't get you in bold part.

Urdu speaking people are not a particular ethnicity.. nor Karachi came in their jahaiz.
Karachi belongs to all..

Urdu Speaking people should settle in different parts of pakistan. Instead of trying to build a self centered identity in 1 or 2 cities. Their is nothing wrong In taking part in politics but not under a new identity that divides the people further.

Karachi belongs to all - when it comes to minting money and collecting tax...

Meanwhile only Urdu Chaps raise and fight for the city alone - their only home.

We came to Karachi and made it what it is today. We gave her our blood and sweat...

Heck, forget about Karachi...What we did for this country is a testimony in itself.

Just like how Pakistan doesn't get ruled by all but only by Feudals of Sindh and Punjab. In the same way, Karachi also has only one contestant and claimer only...URDU GUYS!!!

And you need to accept that...and say thanks that Urdu Chaps don't have gun culture otherwise Pakistan would have fallen by now. The atrocities and discrimination my people faced is unmatched. There is a seething anger in that silence that you observe in Karachi.

The nations which make up of modern Pakistan are bloody fools and don't deserve a country at all....They have FAILED Pakistan on world's stage. And you need to accept that...

Time to give reins to someone else who is FAR more competent than you lot ever will be ....

No buddy you are a racist and it’s not just this post but the other posts that you have made in the past.

Yes you are not denying the popularity but still secretly wish for aik pappi idher and udher from bhai.

Karachi is shot mainly because of 18th amendment and IK who had a very weak coalition. Even with that he gave significant projects including ones that have been a problem for decades like gujjar and orangi nala rehab, circular railway (slowed down after IK), etc.

What did MQM do in 40 years ago except destroying our culture, destroying our next generation, plot qabza and becoming billionaire, bhatta from its own people and the list goes on…

i don't know why urdu-speaking boomer and milennials love MQM so much. it looks and acts more like a gang than even PPP sindhi goons.

I sympathize with you on Karachi issue as any sane Pakistani would.

My family lived in Sindh in 70s and muhajirs and Punjabis were treated horribly.

You are right that if nawaz and zardari can have their cases wiped off why not altaf hussain? Many people are thinking this way.

The problem many urdu speaking Pakistanis now face is the power vaccum left by mqm which hasnt been filled. PTI sadly hasnt been able to do that.

PPP and the establishment does not take anyone seriously unless you become violent or become hostile. So Mqm used bargain like this now urdu speakers dont have that.

sadly mqm is a criminal organization like others and it will also not benefit karachi entirely except giving some representation to muhajirs. Because the bottomline is only the establishment matters in this country.

so solution is to either pray that establishment gets a sane patriot at the helm who sorts out stuff or become violent to attract attention and risk being called traitors.
Otherwise Pakistan as a whole will become central africa considering it has many enemies.

I am sorry, I don't get what you are saying? Can you please explain to us commoners in plain English, so one can understand. It isn't our society that keeps removing elected governments so how can we as a society change that?
