Japanese lifestyle brand MINISO begins journey in Bangladesh

    Well-renowned Japanese lifestyle brand MINISO has opened its first flagship store in Banani-11 in the city.

    MINISO Global Co-founder & Chief Designer Miyake Junya said the sustained and steady growth of Bangladesh economy not only increased the buying capacity of the consumers but also promoted the middleclass with strong purchasing power.

    He said MINISO’s high quality products with excellent design and affordable prices can exactly meet the demand of different consumers group.

    “With its huge population and consumption potentiality, Bangladesh has become an important target market for MINISO in south Asia,” Junya said.

    He said MINISO always emphasises ‘back to nature and rewarding the essence of products’. “To make MINISO outstanding, we incorporate top class designers from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Japan. We hope that Bangladesh will love our products and understand the passion behind the design and quality.”

    The opening ceremony of the store was held in the city on Friday evening. Model and actress Bidya Sinha Mim, Masuma Rahman Nabila and singer Minar Rahman were present.The event ended with a Bangladeshi cultural programme followed by Minar Rahman’s musical performance.

    As a Japanese fast-fashion designer brand, MINISO was co-founded by Japanese young designer Miyake Junya and Chinese young entrepreneur Ye Guofu in Tokyo, Japan in 2013.

    MINISO has marked their presence in 41 countries with 3,000 stores already.unb.

    MINISO, MUJI and DAISO stores carry small inexpensive stationery, household use and cosmetics items, mostly around 3 to 5 dollars. DAISO carries almost everything for $1.50.

    Target market is young ladies, mothers and housewives mostly.

    Yeah, they do in Lahore and Karachi as per google. Don't really know the numbers. I been to the ones in Singapore and Malaysia and they're quite good.

    Islamabad too, last time I was home, I saw the banners but the store wasn't inaugurated.
