my issue is that people have lost patience and common decency. the only way to express opposition seems to be through personal attack, insults or whataboutism.
we use selective judgements, selective memories and selection bias and then resort to rants.

It's not all the people who have lost respect; it is the youth which follow Imran Khan and which have been engineered with constant lies and propaganda, unproven allegations and what not into hysterical, senseless and nonsense mob. They have neither any respect, nor any knowledge or information. Their entire existence resolves around this 1 person and that is what Imran Khan continues to flame.

The loss that Imran Khan caused with the mere reversal of IMF conditions as his financial land mines alone is something which caused excruciating pain to the economy but his followers cannot even understand that simple measure let alone the other damages, especially diplomatic damages that Imran caused Pakistan in under 4 years. Don't really know what his followers believe the result would be if IK comes to power again, economically and diplomatically.

Look, being an Army kid, I know these traditions well. They are a way for the men to bid farewell to the CO and incase of a unit, like a battalion or regiment is often the end of a 18-20 year association with the outfit for the outgoing CO.
There is a bara khann, a variety show, all In all, a way to raise morale for the men who usually look forward to it.

I can tell you . veterans have risked access to medical and pensions for voicing their opposition. like I said . we all are sourced from same pool. the blame is shared. PTI unfortunately is acting immature. there is no justification for bitching and cursing everyone associated with army. like calling all Muslims terrorists or calling all pathans taliban. i recall discrimination Pashtuns faced in punjab during the mid 2000s.

I am aware that several esteemed members here are not fans of IK but I think we can all agree that Nawaz sharif is a corrupt piece of shit. A common patwari is also a corrupt piece fo shit. but is he responsible for the downfall of this nation?

Also, Nawaz sharif can hold the patwari accountable, by strengthening the accountability system. The patwari (metaphor for the common citizen who is also morally corrupt) can't hold nawaz sharif accountable for he has no power over him.

Only way a common man can hold the powerful accountable is using his vote. and that's what he is asking for rn. And that where our dearly beloved institution does its chamatkaar and deprives the common man of that. Did it surprise anyone to know that they were also opposed to EVMs along with PDM?

Gen Mirza is being seen off from 10 Corps HQ by the people at the Corps HQ. as is a tradition in the army the out going command is seen off in a procession and usually his mount is pushed manually by the personnel with a lot of celebratory chants and dance. this is the culmination of a Ceremony where the good time in the office is recounted and jokes are shared, food or treats shared and then the host thanks the outgoing commander who is led in a procession.

in its smallest example it happens at a company level of a unit and then the regimental level, Brigade, Div and Corps level.
this tradition has nothing to do which army ruling Pakistan for 70+ years or Ditching one party favorite for another.

since PTI/ Insafians or Youthias (as Noonies call them) are the bleeding hearts so a negative hateful reaction was confirmed and that's what Wajahat was counting on. so apart from a handful of tweets reminding him that it was nothing new or strange but an age old military tradition of seeing off the commander (including a tweet rom me) the rest of them were mostly rants, rage, name calling and cursing. some curses were directed at the military leadership (there is some merit there and I agree with that) but some was mostly directed at the military institution and wishing its death (which I didn't agree with).

obviously staying silent was not an option so I respectfully offered an opposition and then the entire Web rant of the Youthian tortured souls turned on myself. I told them that whining doesn't resolve the issue and the problem was within them. they had to fix themselves since the army sources its personnel from the same pool of people that makes up the entire nation but self correction or self criticism is not in our national psyche it is always someone else's fault.

then I was told that my days were numbered (somehow I represented the entire GHQ now). I mocked them by saying that Imran had called off the protests, maybe they need to tell him to continue. then they resorted to personal insults. suggesting I took pleasure in striping and molesting good citizens of Pakistan's and Bengalis got a lucky break which he and other innocent PTI supporters were stuck with with us. I again repeated that this all can change for better according to PTI wishes if these people started the correction from inhouse as it will have the butterfly effect and change the nation for better ultimately and automatically taking away the ability of opportunist "Pindi boyz" from screwing up with affairs of the the state. but that didn't get us anywhere.

Why just the military can't do a self inspection ? Why there is a huge EGO thats stopping it from doing so ? You have to ask that why so many patriotic people, so many people who used to uplift morale of military and used to do it on their own, Used to give free marketing, better image perception for military were now criticizing it. Arshad Sharif Shaheed did so many programs with frontline soldiers, Wajahat did so many programs glorifying the military. There are countless social media keyboard warriors who were your 5th gen warfare soldiers. Instead replying them, kidnapping them or torturing them, the military need to self inspect. Your chief did massive blunders and sadly there is no check and balances in military to hold their chief accountable. You just can't stay above the law and expect people to respect or love you. Unthinkable crimes were done to journalists, senator, lawmakers by crooked agency under Bajwa's orders. You lose respect this way, you don't gain it.

The most fundamental aspect of any professional organisation is self inspection, accountability and respect of law. You are opposite of professional if you lack of this and in addition you have business interests, housing, plots and wealth generation interests. High time to self inspect rather then getting into arguments with patriotic people of the country who only wishes to improve you by doing positive critisicm. Every Pakistani want PA to be a professional force, no one really likes to critisize it. Infact it hurts us. Military people are not imported from Finland, they are Pakistanis too. They also have to have same mindset and keep their living standards as of ordinary Pakistanis and just like any other Pakistani, the laws should be applicable to them. Otherwise, the way they are alienating themselves is very dangerous for national security. The divide bw nation & military is the last thing any country can afford.
