Social Preys: Israel: No Place for Bedouin

    • Today, the extremely difficult conditions prevalent in unrecognized Bedouin villages in the Negev is being used as an excuse to promote the urbanization of the Bedouin population. This effort comes despite the fact that the Bedouins have lived on their lands (considered state lands by the Israeli government) for generations, and despite the reality that the sub-par conditions in the townships mean that there is no real incentive for the Bedouins to leave their communities, despite being unrecognized.
    • According to Ismael Abu Saad, the founder of the Bedouin Studies Center at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, after Israeli military rule was imposed on the entire Palestinian population that remained in the territory now known as Israel, the Bedouins of the Negev were deprived of the ability to travel with their herds and cultivate their lands.
    • Over 60 years later, not much has changed. Indeed, in 2005, the Israeli government publicly stated its goal to strengthen Jewish settlement in the region and increase the population by 70 percent by 2015, up to 900,000 residents. As such, virtually every Jewish development project in the Negev – whether for a kibbutz, agricultural village, individual farm, or city – is immediately given basic services and infrastructure and encouraged to grow, while these same resources remain at unlivable levels in Bedouin communities.

Grats. Why did it make big news?? Oooooh right because it is not the normal thing to happen in Israel the normal thing is jews getting all the jobs.
It is funny how they use the few and very rare positive things that happened to them which they made for propaganda reasons and fully politicizes it isn't it?

Hey, how many women drivers are there in KSA? You can be punished just for walking without a male escort you say? Freedom of speech you say? Freedom of religion?
Not looking like a black hole with eyes you say? Asking Israel to bomb Iran for you you say?
    Keep walking buddy.

quite bizarre, considering the bedouins are the indigenous peoples of that entire sub-continent --stretching over vast sums of land

whereas, a good proportion of people (e.g. Ashkenazis) are purely imported elements from eastern european countries.

so there is a lot of nerve in issuing such declarations.....but then again, Palestinian people have been having to deal with it since '48

    constructive criticism isnt always a bad thing;

for example, as the mumbai drama was unfolding --israeli Shin bet officials didnt have such flattering words for the NSG forces which india brought in several hours after the attacks had already begun and the hotels were under the occupation of the handful of gunmen

    (stated rather mildly!!)

How pathetic will these indian trolls get? Comparing a province to an internationally recognized occupied territory (even the western media uses the term)

I'm sure the Kashmiris across the LoC would agree that the Kashmir issue is more similar to the crisis being discussed here.

Any talk of Baluchistan will be and should be sent to the dust bin where all other troll posts end up

    Thanks

Israel's aims could have been achieved peacefully. They use these abrasive tactics because they want complete copyrights to Jerusalem and they negate its importance for Muslims for their black magic needs (they are digging underneath our Dome of the Rock for some black magic mumbo jumbo).

Clarification: The dome of the rock is not a holy Islamic relic and it is always confused with the real Aqsa mosque which is behind it. Thank You

Uh, it's not holy or Islamic? So it must be unholy and un-Islamic then? Whatever the case may be, these areas are special concern to the IDF and Jerusalem Museum of ancient and future history.

You have got us there, now the secret is out there. Israel wants to dig under the dome of the rock in order to create a passage to the other dimension and enabling travelling through time. Didn't you see Back to the Future? What about Indiana Jones and the lost ark? It will be exactly like that.
