this is what the obsession he's talking about.

You have not understood his point and further concretes it.

He was saying that the only north indian talks about friendship with Pakistan. That too Punjabi in majority and some other people from north.

India would have been better of with partition if Pakistan also took all the corrupt Indian politicians and officials along with them. Can we not deport the lot to Pakistan now or is it too late ?? I am certain that Pakistan has some place in its country and its politics for a few hundred more corrupt Indian politicians and officials.

Seriously. In return we could promise the Pakistanis that we will pay them say a few billion $ a year once our country is cleaned up and is well functioning. We could call those payments alimony payments for maintaining our corrupt politicians and officials in Pakistan. The Pakistanis could perhaps house those politicians and officials in SWAT or NWFP to be "lectured" daily by the Taliban. In that case we could increase our alimony payments to Pakistan :azn:

Is India Better-off With Partition? in my view i would say a big NO. if you think with some sense we were economically much affected due the partition. the mineral resource of tat region is lost, direct link with oil nations are lost, fertile lands are lost, billions of dollars for armed force in the indo-pak border and above all a big enemy wit the same blood and thousands of life's in crossborder terrorist attacks. now the situation is two allied enemies cunning for attacking india whenevr possible. it forces for a increased budget for defence at the cost of citizen's basic needs. SOo if there wasnt a partition our lifestyle would hav been much better...

    Just my view...

On a serious note, partition is the best thing that has happened in the history of India.

bro every state has its own culture... as a whole ther is no specified culture for INDIA. and referring to the context of religion "its one own belief and fundamental right" and no one have the right compel anyone or to discriminate anyone on the basis of religion or culture and that is our Constitution..
