Turkey's actions | Erdogan's populist speeches. Separate them, his words are tough but their actions don't clash majorly with the US. The S-400 and F-35 deal is not a major thing, just an equipment purchase which reached a disagreement. They have enabled the 1991 gulf war and the 1991-2003 northern-Iraq no-fly zone through their Incirlik air base. That was a major thing actually.

It just some banter, but what he's saying is he doesn't want Iran and Turkey to interfere in his country's politics. Iran arms proxy militias in Iraq to threaten the Iraqi gov't and advance Iranian interests while Turkey embarks on operations in northern Iraq without their permission some of the times. Coming back to the point that started this discussion, two things that deter an enemy from invading a country, regional allies that would stand up for u ( this is not a foolproof method yet it makes ur enemy think twice before any adventure), the second thing is nuclear weapons which ensures no one messes with u, Iraq never could have the second thing hence it needed the first one, now for future reference avoid such a situation again, Iraq should try to slowly increase there cooperation with regional countries, make it so that they have high stakes in stability of Iraq, so that the next time the devil comes knocking, it wont be so easy for him. In Pakistan's case, we dont give damn about any other country when push comes to shove cause we have nuclear weapons.
