That is Chapar truck which is Iran's first national truck, it is designed by Mobtakeran Hadid company which is a car part manufacturing company but now has established a plant in Meshkin Shahr, it will be developed in three phases with the last phase of it will add Loader to its products, Chapar has not yet entered mass production.Another example:
Chapar uses OM 457 engine which is built completely along with OM355 in IDEM.
Idem has managed to reverse engineer these two engines after germans chickened out of Iran.
Chapar and the plant
Due to sanctions there has been serious problems in manufacturing and acquring new trucks and tractors, but there has been encouraging developements mostly by Iran Khodro Diesel while Saipa Diesel is all but dead, IK Diesel has been busy reverse engineering OM355, OM457 engines, gearbox, chasis and transmission.
Idem has been there for years with a lot of capabalities un engine building, as a stop gap solution IK Diesel will manufacture two completely Iranian made tractors, S1943 and S2630.
These two tractors use upgraded Iranian made OM457 with power of 430hp, while these two are equipped with ABS brakes and modern features, they still use the old Wagon Hood cabin but according to IKCO a new completely Iranian designed tractor and truck series with new cabin will be unveiled in the near future.

Sanctions had been hard and difficult to bear but there had been benefits, Iran car companies are now truely self sufficent and are now forging their own path, although Saipa had been behind in engine developement but they are also making a start in manufacturing new engines, IKCO new family of 3 cylinders engines will be a revolution in Iran car industry
