Geography is destiny. There is no escape from it. To escape from China's pull, India needs to accumulate power and a size of its own. Yet, aside from population dividend, I do not think India is capable of doing anything positive in excess in the foreseeable future.
Still, even though few educated elites and a herd of desperadoes may indeed escape from China-led Asia to the US or UK, majority has to stay where they are, enjoy or loathe the condition they find themselves in, and, eventually, nothing changes.
To look at it more closely, even those lucky enough to escape are not escaping a China-led Asia, they are escaping from India.
Even rhetorically, however, escapist feelings are not to be frowned upon because India's best contribution to Asia would be to make itself less, because, practically, India currently has nothing to offer.
I do not think of a single country in Asia that are delusional enough to think of India as something they can benefit from.
