Even though the population density per Square Km is High ; yet Kerala
has done very well to conserve its Natural environment
I have heard a lot about the backwaters of Kerala...that they are stunning! India is lucky to have all these lovely places.

It's not only because of conservation, if you keep a land unattended, it will become like wild forest,that's the tropical climate and soil suitable for green vegetation.
