The International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimates that Romania’s economy will increase by 5% this year and by 3.8% in 2017, according to the World Economic Outlook report published on October 4.

IMF’s forecast shows Romania as Europe’s fastest-growing economy. The European economy as a whole is expected to grow by 2% this year and by 1.8% next year while the economies in Emerging Europe should grow by 3.3% and 3.1%.

At global level, IMF estimates an economic growth of 3.1% in 2016 and 3.4% in 2017.

In the previous World Economic Outlook report released in spring, IMF estimated for Romania a growth of 4.2% in 2016 and 3.6% in 2017.

Shouldn't title be be Highest Economic Growth Rate in Europe?

Large Economies like Germany, France etc will grow more but their rate will be lower according their economic size.

 to Romania for economic progress.

Congrats to Romania. 5% is quite alot. Even though it's from a low base, but still commendable nevertheless. Keep up the momentum . Kudos to Romania. :)

Why would it be a dampener ? Best of luck to all Euro countries, prosperity brings stability.

Unfortunately, tourism doesn't reach its full potential in Romania. While having one of the most well preserved ecosystems in Europe, with mountain regions, the Danube Delta, beaches, tourism is hampered by the goverment's inability to set up a proper infrastructure.

Magical it is. I dunno why but your region appears to have mystery and romance. Do you people feel like that too?

Yes.Altough a EU member and a modern country,Romanians are stil deeply spiritual. That's probably because ,unlike most European countries we re still rich in fauna and flora, that's why we still have thousands of bears and wolves (biggest populations in Europe, outside Russia),roaming the mountains and hills.

In medieval times,Romanians always sought refuge into the darkness of the forrests and mountains when invaders came. That created a bond through the ages.We have a saying...."Codru-i frate cu Romanu'"....."The forrest is the brother of the Romanian"

    The last picture is

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merry_Cemetery

The Merry Cemetery (Romanian: Cimitirul Vesel pronounced [t͡ʃimiˈtirul ˈvesel]) is a cemetery in the village of Săpânța, Maramureş county, Romania. It is famous for its colourful tombstones with naïve paintings describing, in an original and poetic manner, the people who are buried there as well as scenes from their lives. The Merry Cemetery became an open-air museum and a national tourist attraction.

The unusual feature of this cemetery is that it diverges from the prevalent belief, culturally shared within European societies – a belief that views death as something indelibly solemn. Connections with the local Dacian culture have been made, a culture whose philosophical tenets presumably vouched for the immortality of the soul and the belief that death was a moment filled with joy and anticipation for a better life

    An epitaph on the stones

    Romanian
    Sub această cruce grea
    Zace biata soacră-mea
    Trei zile de mai trăia
    Zăceam eu și cetea ea.
    Voi care treceți pă aici
    Incercați să n-o treziți
    Că acasă dacă vine
    Iarăi cu gura pă mine
    Da așa eu m-oi purta
    Că-napoi n-a înturna
    Stai aicea dragă soacră-mea

    English
    Under this heavy cross
    Lies my poor mother in-law
Three more days should she have lived
I would lie, and she would read (this cross).
You, who here are passing by
Not to wake her up please try
Cause' if she comes back home
    She'll criticise me more.
    But I will surely behave
So she'll not return from grave.
Stay here, my dear mother in-law!
