To quote Pepys, "....And so to bed."

@T90TankGuy

Please tag me on these amusing threads. I log in once or twice a week at most. As you know, I have reduced my on-line presence, and all eight or ten fora that I used to visit together occupy only a fraction of the time I put in earlier.

Why is it that a class of Pakistani cannot refrain from the coarsest racism
Racism?! Reading this remark of your's, it's quite evident that you're unaware of the indian mindset. Or worse, you're an indian, which explains why you're oblivious to your own country's flaw. Either way, you're way off the mark, bud.

trying to show that their country, their services and their competitive capability is on par with anyone else?
Umm .... Isn't that what any country does? To work toward improving and developing new weapons to have strategic advantage over their adversary? As for "showing", well we aren't under any illusions about our limitations. Rather we take our limitations head-on and work in a manner to achieve the best possible ability to fight and defeat the enemy.

We leave the "showing" part to americans, indians, israelis and brits.

This had to happen, to shake off the death-grip of the unions on defence production establishments. The infrastructure that played a significant role and armed the allies in the Second World War is now unable to meet the volumes needed for the Army, Navy and Air Force.

Part of this is due to a downward spiral of expectation and capacity building setting each other off; as the men in uniform lose faith in the availability of materiel from these plants, the plants see their orderbooks shrinking and plan downwards accordingly; that leads to a further downturn in production and a further loss of faith, and so on.

There are signs of major change. Major artillery and armoured vehicle offerings have been made, there is a sense among the very competent Indian private sector that changes are coming, and that these will be permanent, and there is serious capacity being built up. But again, it will take time for these initiatives to replace the really current technologies that are needed here and now, and our own designs coming to mass production is going to happen only over some years. When it does happen, it will be a serious headache for our 'friends', but that's a different paracetamol requirement.

Why is it that a class of Pakistani cannot refrain from the coarsest racism when trying to show that their country, their services and their competitive capability is on par with anyone else?

You have taken into account that the post has been made by someone for whom acne is possibly a greater world issue than aggression?

LOL. This question was inevitable, T90 Bhai. Just to remind you, none of these gentry have even the slightest interest in defence; they are here to be insolent and aggressive towards the designated object of hatred, and to fill the columns with acid comments on anything and any post. This member is a classic of the kind. He has probably never come across you before, and is wondering how someone who depends on the grapevine much as he does knows so much more than he does. Have you found a stronger vine, he wonders to himself, and finally cannot bottle up the curiousity.

This is what comes of posting so rarely.

WHAT?

Am I dreaming or something? You are aware of how much the Centre owes the States in GST share that should have been distributed but has not been done?

Now you are referring to the current lot who get their daily news feed from whats app and republic. Going by that ,we are stronger then the US.
God help you if you disagree with their point of view, lacking facts, which was not a part of their daily diarrhea on their local lotus group , they attack the person and question him and call him anti national.
I would not be surprised is this govt looses more land to the Chinese and the bhakths blame the opposition. Not one has the courage to stand up and say the emperor is naked!!

I don't think it is going to be impossible for India to secure funds for such purchases, especially long term credit, however, it would likely come at a heavy price for the development budget.

Ultimately, this new confrontation with China and Pakistan simultaneously is likely going to hurt long term human resource development.

The Chinese kept their head low throughout much of their development and so were able to focus most of their energies and resources wisely. Once they felt comfortable, they have decided to become more assertive.

Unfortunately for India, it seems the Chinese have decided to bleed India through a protracted confrontation meant to distract India from spending on long term development. Even though Pakistan had been doing it for decades (at great cost to its own development), the Chinese entry is likely going to make the situation much worse.

The military will likely be able to secure an ever increasing budget for the '2.5 front war', and the long term development will continue to suffer.

Tbh in the long run, the best case scenario would be a short war fought with sufficient changes to the border for a permanent peace deal to be signed. It would be better, in the long run, than a decades long costly face off on 2.5 fronts.

India will increase defence equipment purchase budget by 30% next year.
then probably the prices of weapons and goods sold to India will also increase.
Again the people of Lilith, with her Spider Wed Net to trap the indebted and enrich themselves, have used the money and wealth of others as a weapon. So now everyone will do so.
Only so much to go around.
Nations have to look out for themselves now not foreigners or traitorous migrating/invading beggars.

Let's get to the point.

Does your macroeconomic assessment point to something different? If it does, you must be Gurumurthy writing in a false name, contradictory to whatever a whole range of economists, from Rajan at one end to Swamy at the other end have all said.
I am very confused, just what are you responding to? Some bloke mentioned having ‘insider information’ on the true state of India’s economy which seems bull to me. If you are going by the range of consensus based on verifiable published data, then we live on the same plane of logic. Save your ink Joe.
[QUOTE/]

Bit late for that, although quite understandable, considering current political trends in India.

[/QUOTE]
India’s problems are manifold, Modi has always had the will never the smarts. Unfortunately the lost decades of abysmally poor investment in education are coming back to bite the democratic machine now. Your quote made me sound like a turncoat but I have never voted for him.

Why should my comment be interpreted to mean that I am unaware of the Indian mindset? What does that very nebulous phrase mean? What flaw?

Merely waving our hands in the air does not add to the evidence available, or make a reasoned point. It just underlines my original point that this kind of vicious remark is a product of racism, and is not a conclusion based on evaluating the facts available.

I think you need to think deeply about what the mark is, that you refer to so casually.

I am very sorry to have caused 'confusion'; why that happened is confusing.

Let me quickly recap.: there was some very brief discussion about the macroeconomic facts, and one post, by @T90TankGuy, referred to a range of opinions held by government functionaries that all pointed in the same, rather dismal direction. As far as I could understand, he was not hinting at any access to secret information not known to the rest of us, he was referring to the general idea among responsible segments of government regarding the state of the economy and the direction it was heading.

Your assumption, that he was citing an insider view, does not seem particularly well-founded. He was merely refuting an implicit slur that he knew nothing about the situation. This is not to be confused with claiming an insider view.

My response to your post - two posts, as it is, but taking them together as a composite - was that we might as well ignore the hints and allusions about official positions and come to the point. Was there anything about the economic situation that made your view stand apart from others? Was there, to make things very clear, any ameliorative circumstance that you saw? If not, and I believe not, what are you objecting to, and why do you return repeatedly to some member stating that he is a very important person? Shades of Professor Jowett and his most important pupil!

If we are, after all, on the same plane of logic, can we just agree that Modi and his More-Or-Lesses are blowing it out of their collective backside - a rather entertaining envisioning - and go to bed?

Unless you have something to say of great consequence that has not been properly dealt with; my punctuation, for instance?
Save your ink Joe.
Ah, thank you, quite forgot that with the sinking of the economy, ink will be a valuable fluid. Quite right to point it out.

Couldn't agree with you more.

Mysterious.

My favourite activity, in these dreary days, is channeling Gagool, from King Solomon's Mines. Understandable, you may agree, considering the numbers rushing from one side of the boat to the other, but clearly, I owe you an apology for ever thinking that you voted for him.

I Never Voted For Him.

Is there a T-Shirt in there?

Read your question again, bud, you just might break through your mental barrier and discover something.

Merely waving our hands in the air does not add to the evidence available, or make a reasoned point.
Dude you're smoking weird $hit. Do you even read what you type?

Umm ... I'm really not gonna waste time here, by bringing up link after link of racism in india, it's pretty evident. Even to the most ignorant person. And you really do need to read up on how india is obsessed with the white skin. From political decisions, to economic ones, to projection of itself as a country. Every single act, points squarely toward how the indian mentality really is a prisoner of its own vanity, that feeds it's obsession with the white skin and leads it to make decisions which are could best be described as a mentality torn between inferiority and superiority.

I think you need to think deeply about what the mark is, that you refer to so casually.
I think you have no idea who you are talking to. So I would leave you to figure that out all on your own. Best of luck!!!

Buddy you are speaking to a guy who is your grandfathers age and knows more about things in his little finger then you do in your entire body .
As to you not being able to understand the highlighted part , may i suggest you open a thesaurus. His command over the English language is better then most of us, if you are not able to understand then its something you need to do , not him !

Hoi! Father's age! NOT grandfather's age!! There's 28 years between us. He was born within two years of my daughter.

"His command of the english language" .... really? Is that suppose to be some sort of badge of honor? Your thought pattern equates information to knowledge. The two are as far apart as Pluto is to the Sun. So spare me your "overwhelming" knowledgeable old man, tact and stick to topic. I said that indians are obsessed with the white skin. Prove me wrong, it's his job to do that, not mine.

Oh and btw, respect is earned not given.
