But my point was not to look down on the Japanese people. Just showing that many nations have sides that can be percieved negatively.

Bashing islam and muslims (zeitgeist) is favourite hobby of of many besserwissers. Then one must ask, why not the same measure stick for India, which is a hindu dominant nation. Or those many central and south american nations, and african nations, that all are christians. They havent either really made any society on par with the west, neither any tech to speak of except maybe Brazil and South Africa. Rest are really either on same page as muslim countries or even less developed.

It really about leadership, cleverness, inventiveness and a competitive mind that really makes the difference. Of course the geopolitical setting must also be right (timing).
