Yes Pakistan needs a sex offenders register an chemical castration.

Pakistan needs to reform the police and purge dishonest criminals and bribe takers in uniform. Also I agree with member @Imran Khan that fauji funding needs to be cut and given to police. Pakistan Police is underfunded and that’s why so many of our inspectors are probably willing to take bribes.

The police will take bribes as usual , good funding won't stop that. Police is corrupted with a corrupt culture around , politicians , rich and even poor pay bribes to the police to get favours. Never a policeman is punished on corruption charges.
The whole system is fucked up .

Also a social media activist and vlogger, the woman was on a trip to the Fort Munro hill station.

Acting on the woman’s complaint, the Border Military Police (BMP) arrested the prime suspect, ‘M’ (21), also said to be an American citizen.

DG Khan District Police Officer (DPO) Ali Waseem told Dawn the suspect had confessed to have committed the crime.

The DPO said the BMP presented the suspect in a local court and obtained his physical remand, while the woman had been sent to hospital for medical examination. He said the Fort Munro BMP registered a gang-rape case on the complaint of the vlogger, who alleged the suspects also recorded video clips of the episode.

The DPO said the foreigner had contacted the prime suspect through a tourist guides group page on social media and planned a trip to Fort Munro on his invitation. She later informed the police over phone that she had been raped by her hosts.

During inquiry, it transpired that the woman was on a visit to Pakistan and had been residing with one Basil Khan in Lahore.

Basil told the police that she was his fiance’.

According to inquiry reports, Basil and the foreigner vlogger had met the prime suspect ‘M’ through a social media app, the DPO said.

The woman told the police that on M’s invitation she left for Rajanpur alone on public transport, where she stayed with his host’s family for a couple of days.

Later, on July 16, both left for Fort Munro, where they stayed in a hotel room. The woman later alleged she was gang-raped by ‘M’ and his accomplices.

“I received life threats from ‘M’ over phone for reporting the matter to police”, she stated in the FIR.

Fort Munro BMP police registered the first information report (FIR) against three nominated suspects under sections 376 and 292 b of the Pakistan Penal Code.

DG Khan Deputy Commissioner Anwar Baryar, who was also senior commandant of BMP, told Dawn the woman was on a trip to Fort Munro, where she was allegedly gang- raped.

He said raids were being conducted for the arrest of other nominated suspects.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz has sought a report from the Punjab inspector general of police (IGP) on the Fort Munro incident.

The CM ordered indiscriminate action against the culprits, saying they would be given exemplary punishment as per the law, and justice would be done to the complainant.

According to police, a Vlogger was allegedly gang-raped by a number of guys at a hotel in Pakistan, including her host.

A 21-year-old American woman reported the alleged event took place on July 17 in east Punjab.

Police have disclosed that as part of their investigation, at least two people have been taken into custody

According to the Free Press Journal, the woman, who had been in Pakistan for three weeks, told police that one man had recorded her without getting her consent.

She further disclosed to police that she had received threats to keep quiet about the alleged incident.

Police reported that the woman had spent five days at the residence of one of the suspected perpetrators.

Police are attempting to determine how the victim was allegedly enticed before they transported her to a hotel.

The protection of American people abroad is the utmost concern of the U.S. Department of State and our embassies and consulates abroad, the US Embassy in Islamabad told the Associated Press.

“We cannot comment on the nature of the complaint due to the claimed victim’s right to privacy,”

The US consulate in Lahore will support the accused victim, according to officials.

Many women in Pakistan reportedly choose not to disclose alleged rape assaults because they wish to escape stigma.

Great setback to pakistan tourism industry .

Those men should be given harsh punishment but even as a Pakistani and pathan, i wont go to rajanpir alone and without a weapon. That area is dacoit land. These vloggers need to first understand the area before going alone like that. Pakistan is relatively safe and not 100℅ safe. You should also inform authorities before going to sensitive area and also follow the foreign office directions and not visit areas where foreigners are not allowed.
Dacoits did no harm to her .

Several red flags here:

Leaving fiance and going alone to unknown/unsafe area……really loyal and faithful u r……
Trusting ppl over social media
Weird name for an American, never heard urpi…..

I Think she was a spy/agent trying to gather and find info on sensitive areas and things, etc…..just got crashed by locals…
Trying to tarnish the image of the country too, wtf is she even doing here, don’t these americans realize they’re not wanted or even liked by locals, specially after regime change operation

Americans and other westerners should stay away. Want to promote tourism within country?
Make it safe and invite locals. There’s 240 million tourists, why u need foreigners only?
Gori chamri k ghulam!!

Go save your own usa from no-go areas and drugs first before coming here dumb americans. No we don’t want you spying on our installations here!!! Eff off.
What you are saying is not good for pak tourism.

Apparently she didn’t recieve the NOC. These guys probably threw a burkha over her and told her to respect local customs...bla bla bla. You know pulas is not going to check people’s women under a burkha and they probably don’t have women in police in this area to check either.
If places are not safe for tourists , this is great Great setback to pakistan tourism .

Give these thugs the maximum sentence. They shamed Pakistan and scarred the guest with lifetime trauma. Pakistani people are good hosts and take care of our guests. Very unfortunate and sad incident.

This isn’t an area designated for tourism by the government in the first place, genius.
Yeah bro you’re right.
And majority of the country has no tourist facilities other than few designated hotels. Once you’re outside hotel good luck even finding a washroom somewhere that’s not filthy/makeshift where u get told there’s no water yet you have to pay 50-100rs to pee. There’s even no soap even, hav to use own sanitizers etc to clean.

Maybe the northern areas have proper facilities? I’m not sure. This is why tourism can’t flourish here cuz there is no proper facilities. Locals are free to charge u whatever rate as govt doesn’t exist.
No washrooms and we expect full safety for people? Nah forget it.

I’ve seen dirty washrooms, but never been charged for using one?

Are you sure it isn’t some random guy just standing outside of a washroom? They do this for parking on any part of the public street or walkway with string or rope.

Uhhhhh what the f?

This part sounds sketchy as **** to me. She left her fiancé in Lahore to go meet up a tour guide in Rajanpur?

Rajanpur is bandit country and not even many men would travel there by themselves.

This shit is not making any sense to me..

These culture pages on tik tok and insta romanticize and somewhat fetishize village life.

A lot of these rural areas are not safe AT ALL and need the strap or some ppl you know that are with you.

This is coming from someone whose dad and brother went to Dera Bugti.

The perpetrators need to be hanged in public.

By the way, DG Khan zilla is not open to foreign tourists without permission.

Here is some more context to the story:

VIDEO HAS BEEN REMOVED

Most of the posts are just knee-jerk reactions without any analysis of the present situation of the area and affairs of Pakistan.

Don't forget the meri jism meri marzi crowd

More than symbolic punishments, we need a way to make sure that potential rapists would shudder to even think about raping another person.
Rapists are unnecessary burden on society.

Pakistani culture promotes rpe
