SAN DIEGO (AP) — A Marine Corps fighter jet collided in mid-air with another plane during a refueling operation in a remote desert area of Southern California Tuesday afternoon. But the pilot ejected and the other aircraft landed safely, the military said.

The F-35B jet collided with a Lockheed Martin KC-130J tanker around 4 p.m., according to a statement from the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma in nearby Arizona.
The jet pilot “ejected successfully and is currently being treated," the statement said. It didn't provide other details.
The other plane reportedly had eight crew members on board. None were injured.

The F-35B is a single-seat combat aircraft that can take off and land conventionally and vertically. That plane crashed near the Salton Sea, an inland lake about 100 miles (160 kilometers) northeast of downtown San Diego.

I admire your crusade against the F-35, tilting at windmills like the fabled Don Quixote of La Mancha,
You can huff, you can puff but the Rafale is no match for the F-35 on the only metric that matters to Dassault and Lockheed - market share.

The Rafale is already obsolete give it up take up Pétanque like my father he plays everyday with his friends in Montpellier.
LOL.
The F35 is not fully operationnal. And with so much late it's not impossible it will never be.

Rafale is fully operationnal, has a strong road map, is used every day over battlefields.

Continue to dream and to hide the reality : F35 is a technical failure.

That Rafale went out of full due to a pilot error.

A F35 crashed in the pacific ocean near Japan but no one knows why... And you can be depressed : your wine is awfull.
It arrived, even to the best turkey of the world....

...but a resounding success for Lockheed while the French Tax payer is still heavily subsidizing the cost of the Rafale including the handful of Rafales sold to Qatar, India and Egypt.

Nations are scrambling to acquire the 'technical failure' F-35 while the French are giving away Rafales for free.

I could stoop to your pathetic levels and post incidents of Rafale mid air collisions but several French pilots died in these incidents - so I won't.

Full classical US bull shit !

So Israel received a handfull of the flying turkey. So is Netherlands (37), so will be Belgium (34). so is Denmark, Singapor, Poland....

Just see the price of the French birds just to convince your so small US brain that it was never a gift.

Even the Rafale to be sold in 2nd hand to Greece will be bill more than 50€ million each.

Good night.

2 french pilots died is a spatial disorientation and a mid air collision.

F35, even just politically IOC, has already made one Japanese widow. The first of a futur long list.

no one dies from spatial disorientation, death always occurs due to impact either ground or mid-air collision.
anyway, enjoy your pathetic little jouissance over dead pilots. ciao

To be honest there isn't much difference between Rafale and F-35. Rafale replace Mirage 2000. F-35 replace F-16. Mirage 2000 and F-16 are basically on par.
