In fact some experts are already predicting a 50% hike in exports this year from 2 billion US dollars to 3 billion US dollars a year.
Please send the link to prove your claim that India will import $3 billion worth of goods from BD.

Indian Baniyas will certainly not like this.

why would china want to set up factories in BD
and import finished goods into china
and pay a premium to BD while incurring losses (compared to having those factories in china itself and employing its own citizenry)?
Simple... chinese wages are increasing and they are seeking to go up the value chain and it is no longer profitable to manufacture there.

China has two options, allow closure of factories and import or move the factories abroad and continue business.

This happens all the time.... these business moved to china from the west when it was too expensive to produce in the west.

Tbh , medical service is the brightest side of India! There is no reason to go bankrupt by taking mediocre medical services in top hospitals in Dhaka ( not to mention affordable hospitals ) , rather people ( specially middle class ) always willing to visit India for far superior medical services at very reasonable price!

Bangladeshi doctors are busy taking 30% ( some take more ) commission from diagnostic centers , instead of sharpening their knowledge on their own subjects. That's why can't provide services! Few can be exceptions though ( not on commission business , but providing services ) , but they are negligible!

Govt doesn't care about such things as politics is everywhere!

Bangladeshi doctors are scam artists.

Do not blame BAL or BNP for their poor ethics.

Bangladeshi medical colleges are not internationally recognised.

This is due to the extreme poor quality of education and poor ethics.

This can be only changed by the profession themselves.

Bangladeshi middle class bypasses Bangladeshi doctors by going to India.

Bangladeshi doctors only extort the lower middle class.

Please send the link to prove your claim that India will import $3 billion worth of goods from BD.

Indian Baniyas will certainly not like this.

Indian banyas love that they get to export nearly 20 billion to BD.

This is way more than China.

China’s export to BD is very small once military and infrastructure goods (largely one-off) are excluded.

I'm not blaming anyone! I'm just stating the fact. Bangladeshi doctors are not different from us. They are one of us. If they became bad , then surely the main reason is our policy makers.

We are mostly greedy people , we prefer money over everything. And our politicians are the Frontline criminals and corrupted!

If they grab power as back benchers , and loot money, live elite life , then why god students shall not be greedy?

Indeed they will be. So BNP and BAL must be blamed for most of wrong doings ( if not responsible for all )!

Here we blame India for their dadagiri towards us and other smaller neighbors , but they are doing well internally in many cases!

Our society is rotten, now it's time.to rebuild it!

You need to stop blaming politicians for all ills.

I go to NY a lot. The behaviour of Bangladeshis there is appalling.

Infighting in Masques is appalling.

You cannot blame BAL and BNP for that.

And every other NY Bangladeshi is a bloody cab driver.

40% of Bangladesh’s existence has been under military dictatorships.

Doctors were no better in those days.

And corruption was no less.

Have already given experiences of Sylhetis at Dhaka airport during the golden military rule.

And what in God's name leads you to believe they would move their factories to Bangladesh ????
BLIND FAITH
Ver few factories are moving from China to underdeveloped world. The ones moving are inefficient and their owners are upgrading their machinery towards robotics and much higher output and efficiency factories.
You will still not be able to compete
That is assuming you buy into this story of factories moving.
They are but in small and specific manufacruring niches.
They are moving not JUST for cheap labour but for the ability to transfer profits back to China and ability to EXPLOIT govt handouts.
The fantasy idea that Bangladesh would profit from this is for the birds

Eh! Because their population is ageing and labour getting more expensive?

It is not necessarily true that all goods made in Bangladesh will go to China mainland. China has a huge market in the Arab world and Africa. Many of the goods produced in BD cheaper will certainly find an export market in those countries.

Read the map. BD has closer proximity to the Chinese export markets in the Arab and African countries.

The length of a sea voyage from Ctg. to the Arab world is less than half compared to the length of the voyage from Shanghai. And, the distance from Chittagong to African countries is just half the distance from Shanghai.

This is why Chinese companies would invest in BD and Indian companies may not. Indian companies have little incentive to invest in BD.
by that logic, china can set up factories in pakistan or even some north african countries

No one expects China to outsource to Bangladeshi without any economic benefits to themselves.
China is gradually outsourcing lower end, labour intensive manufacturing to other countries due to rising Chinese wages.
Bangladesh needs to cash in on this.
can you quote some examples of china deciding to outsource to other countries? it would probably choose vietnam (take advantage of all the shipping/trnsport network)
and even then, china still has lots of hinterland areas where labor is still cheap and population willing to travel for lower wages.

China is a huge industrial base and (maybe) the capital to switch to more automation - quite unlike Japan which kind of opted to outsource because the tech wasn’t mature enough at the time. They are never going to willingly give up their competitive advantage— and for a nation that acts with such singleminded will, they can actually enforce it.

They are OVER A BILLION CHINESE. They are mechanising and Using robots and AI in their factories. There will ALWAYS have the right amount of labour.
You can buy up old machines, transport them to Bangladesh,
buy up land and build a factory, employ your cheap labour which will be UNCOMPETETIVE against an efficient AI run factory employing a hundred against one employing 5,000
cheap labourers.
Thier product will OUTCOMPETE you.
How do you think the US produces everything under the earth and exports it across the world AND manages to pay their workers $35,000 MINIMUM.

THIS WAITING FOR THE CHINESE TO MOVE THEIR FACTORIES TO BANGLADESH IS A MYTHICAL DREAM

LOOK AT PAKISTAN THAT TOOK $60 BILLION 20 years ago UNDER THE PROMISE OF CHINESE FACTORIES MOVING TO PAKISTAN.

WHERE ARE THESE MYTHICAL FACTORIES EVEN AFTER PROMISE OF 20 YEAR TAX HOLIDAY AND SUBSIDISED ELECTRICITY ????

You will be paying the Chinese to setup factories in Bangladesh after promising uncompetitive profits , tax holidays, and endless servitude to China's ambitions of domination

The fact that they are.

If robotics were the answer Europe could do it and cut out the chinese at a stroke.

Also westerners are diversifying their sources of goods away from china and here BD presents a compelling destination.

Why not concentrate on your own country and leave the BDs to their fantasy.

Its not inquisitiveness, hard fact. If you cant digest then its your problem.

You reciprocate the impediments. Stop India's export to BD instead of whining. Trade if its not a win win for both parties should be stopped.

Dada - we import your Sanghi $hit where quality is irrelevant. meaning we buy it for price, not because of any quality component. Don't think you have any leverage in our market.

Your cotton is the worst quality in the whole globe (short staple cotton), they are unfit for processing into export apparel products. Indian cotton is only used to produce local apparel for poor people.

We could import from China, but in some cases your internal market and consumption is so bad, exports are dirt cheap (because sold products cost more to produce than the price gotten) and costs a pittance to be imported to Bangladesh. Why not throw Indians a bone, since they are neighbors. Support Sanghi banyas and keep them happy.

We aren't thinking "Hi Kwallity" goods when we're looking at Indian imports. These are meant for lower echelon use for very poor people or for disposable and throw-away items, whether you talk machinery or consumables. Kesh Taila, cookies and paan ghutka are those items. Third rate products even middle class people don't use (FMCG items).

And some people also import low grade back-dated WWII era heavy machinery and auto parts tek-na-lajee that no one in the globe uses any more for village roadside workshops. Disposable tuk-tuks and Minitrucks so bad, maximum usage is two years at best.

I think you lot have been watching too much Godi propaganda lately, thinking you have us by the balls selling us garbage sub par $hit.

No one here cares.

We aren't doing the whining, your banyas are whining in every case to sell us stuff. Tell your banyas to stop the whining. They are willing to sell even beef to Bangladesh. Wow!

Not only is India requesting Bangladesh to buy beef, but asking Bangladesh to save its raw leather and tanning industry.

Beef imports should resume; India appealed to Bangladesh

New Delhi: India has asked Bangladesh to resume beef imports.

The government of Bangladesh has stopped the import of frozen meat including buffalo meat from India to protect local livestock farmers and improve the livestock sector.

Financial Express reports that the Indian embassy in Dhaka has sent a letter to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock asking them to resolve the issue.

The letter states that according to the notification on Import Policy-2021-24 issued by the Ministry of Commerce in April 2022, the import of meat, including frozen buffalo meat, requires prior approval from the Animal Husbandry Department.

The traders also said that due to the change in the import policy, there was no import of frozen beef for the past few months, which affected their business.

The letter states that Indian companies are the world’s largest exporters of meat from Bangladesh. Bangladesh is now self-sufficient in meat production. But the letter indicates that some luxury hotels have also imported the meat, spending about US$2.5 million in the 2017-18 fiscal year importing the item from 14 countries.

According to the Department of Livestock Services (DLS), the country reported more than 8.44 million tons of meat in the financial year 2020-21.

Bangladesh imports meat from 14 countries. Other countries are Ethiopia, France, Korea, Thailand, China, United Arab Emirates (UAE), USA, Pakistan, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

where exactly are you getting these statements from?

Military exports are not part of commercial export figures.
