Country in financial distress? Check

Taliban back in power check? Check

Afghanistan based militants killing Pakistanis ? Check

Opposition being persecuted? Check

IK being irrelevant? Check

IK asking for army intervention? Check

Country is literally back where it was on the eve of Musharraf's coup. All his work is undone. And yet no nirvana. In fact just the opposite.

India had USD forty billion in reserves in 1999. Today its reserves are close to USD 500bn. Back then, China was an emerging market. Now it is a major global power. Russia's financial position in 1999 was similar to that of Pakistan today. Currently, Russia is single handling countering the power of NATO. Back then, companies like Facebook, Amazon and Google barely existed. Saudi shurta chased after women for displaying a strand of hair. Now raves are being held hundred miles down the road from Kaaba.

Yasin Malik was perhaps the most uncompromising of all Indian Occupied Kashmir's freedom fighters. Something tells me that his widow is sad over Musharraf's death for some good reasons for the Kashmir cause. You know, Musharraf had launched the Kargil War for some reasons?? I strongly disapprove of that war, btw. If anything, Musharraf was in the mold of Zulfi Bhutto: Two Kashmir obsessed, India haters that Pakistan had ever seen!!

Honestly, even Indians, who have a legit reason to dislike Musharraf for the 1999 Kargil War, have shown more grace and understanding than some Pakistanis about Musharraf. That's what I have seen from the online browsing so far.

Saw him once when he visited our school, Saint Patrick's High School, Saddar Karachi. He studied in the same school too. Looked humble and cool, cracked some jokes etc. Good old days.
