It will take decades for Pakistan to catch up to India and only if we can overcome the perennially corrupt system that's in place, which is highly unlikely.

It's better to cut our losses and move on.

As someone had said in another thread, we need to build a high wall with India and totally cut ourselves from their influence and reach and look to west and north.

If it means having 732 million that defecate in the open and 4 million dead from covid-19.....................................:disagree:

You taking digs at people does not portray a very well mannered human being. It just exhibits your character for the people to observe.

A human's true worth is in his mastery of words and tongue for the greater good, not the degradation of others.
I mirror those who cannot argue and descend into stupid baseless personal comments. Have you not seen what the others have posted? If They posted a reasonable answer they would get one from me. I have a low tolerance for the uneducated. If you have internet access then you have the ability to argue your point but these people descend in to the same old tired tropes.

What Pakistan should do immediately in short term is some how promote cricket in China on a mass scale and also central Asian republic nations and Turkey would be a good idea, once there is a strong interest then its time to shove the ICC whose loyalty and interest lies with big three, but having said that any team that refuses to play Pakistan on home soil, Pakistan should do the vice versa.

Better still, why can't cricket be given back to it's rightful owners, the LGBT community and Pakistan should move on to bigger and better things?

I ALWAYS hated it when I was younger that my family destroyed my athletics career in sprinting and hurdles but watched faggot cricket matches.................... :disagree:

Being English the first thing we are taught is "Don't stoop to the level of those who are irrelevant" hope you get the gist.

On a lighter note, what's the weather like in the UK. Feeling homesick, if you might feel curious as to the whys of my question.

I get the gist. However sometimes you have to fight against lack of reason. I do admire those who can rise above this nonsense lol.

Well, you got it wrong, it's nothing to do with BCCI. However, India did play its part just a little. I learned from highly reliable sources that there was a meeting held in Delhi where people related to security from the US, UK, and India were discussing what should be done to put pressure on Pakistan in relation to Afghanistan. We did suggest that canceling cricket and creating an atmosphere that Pakistan terrorism is growing is a good and reliable method. Once across the world, people feel Pakistan is unsafe there will be a trickle-down effect.

Both NZ and England know that their teams are safe with security provided to the level of PM of Pakistan. So this is part of a larger plan.
Was that the same source who told you guys about isi presence on Serena Kabul 5th floor?

Honestly Pakistan can do both...
Cotton grows in Pakistan and already a decent tech environment which can boom

I want pakistan to dominate textiles for jobs, IT for money while pharma, electronics, minerals can also bring in decent money

Textiles for jobs, other stuff to bring money
You'll not get rich by exporting Textiles is all I'm saying.

One more thing that strikes me is that many Pakistanis here are gung ho about exporting manufactured goods to China. Competitively exporting any type of manufactured goods to China is extremely difficult. Most countries who get rich by exporting to Chinese market will be exporting natural resources. The Chinese will turn the resources into products and ship it across the world. So if Pakistan wants to focus on trade with China, then it has to develop its mining industry. To export manufactured goods, Pakistan will have to look at EU and US for consumers :-)

Yeah I got it, I was just saying textiles should serve a different purpose of providing jobs for illiterates type people, of course money should come from IT, minerals, Pharma, electronics and should be the number #1 priority
There's no two way to it

I want to shift towards ME, Asia (which also includes China as we have a solid FTA with them, so it can be market especially with a rich, decreasing population which can pay off some 1-2 decades from now), Africa because trade with west means we have to "listen" to the west and our changing strategic priorities mean we cant afford that

So even if its not the best option but its politically speaking the best

Believe me Pakistan has tried to promote cricket in China and it hasn't bore any fruits.

Chinese are not too keen on cricket, perhaps due to it's limited appeal across the globe, it's not going promote Chinese brands in places where it matters.

Getting Chinese or Turkoman nations to play cricket would be harder than terra-forming mars.
