An elite police force has been put together to contain the increasing incidents of terrorism and target killings in the provincial capital.

The 400-strong force, which also underwent training by the Pakistan Army, will patrol the city’s roads and sensitive places. According to DIG Quetta Abdur Razaq Cheema, the force comprises cops mostly from the police’s elite squad.

The DIG further said the squad has been posted in the police stations in Gawalmandi, Civil Lines, Saddar, Kharotabad, New Saryab and others. The personnel will establish pickets at various locations in the city and will carry out snap-checking.

The squad has been given special instructions to ensure good conduct when interacting with the citizens.

Dozens of target killings in the city have spread a wave of panic in the city, which also prompted a protest last month.

Six labourers were killed last week by known assailants, and before that around a dozen were killed in target killings.

Formation of new forces is not the answer. It doesn't bring any change.
Same is doing Shahbaz Shareef in Punjab, every now and then he brings a new force.

No amount of front soldiers is going to solve this problem. It the work of intelligence agencies to locate and take out miscreants.

Elite security force from FC ? well the province needs complete Army level operation just like in Waziristan. Not sure how these steps will help to improve the situation but nevertheless better than nothing.

Hazaras themselves create problem since many Hazara went to Syria to fight against Sunni forces on Behalf of Iranian funded forces and local Sunni radicals got info about this and as a retaliation they attack innocent people. We need to cull both radical groups either Sunni or Shia and Hazara must stop going other countries to fight on behalf of Iran / Shia.....As I said be Pakistani first and then follow whatever sect your are following, your affiliation must be with Pakistan whatever sect you are following.
    Pakistani Hazara in Syria.

It is Pakistani state responsiblity to protect its citizens. There are no ifs and buts in this. Hazaras were killed even before Syria war.

Don't give justification for their murder.

I am not giving any justification but Iran must stop recruiting and funding particular sect in Pakistan. We must seal Iran border as well further many people from Pakistan got visa to visit ziyaraat in Iraq and from there they slip into Syria....Every action must have reaction....If they want to fight Iran's war based on sect they be ready for reaction...I must say Govt should allow army to eliminate both radical groups.

You are giving justifications. Same justification that ISIS or TTP gives for its terror activities in Pakistan.

Hazaras were killed since past 10 years or more in Quetta. What was the justification for those murders? That they breath in oxygen?

Sheeeeeeee ... stop it ... no one wants to hear and see that

Every drop of blood shed under order of Iranian mulla is halal and legal action. You are spreading sectarianism bla bla bla

No justification for bloodshed should be given but reality should be discussed and not hide.

As this all started after Khomaini's revolution in Iran and increased with time. Mulla in Iran wants rule of his sect and under his command, in all Muslim countries. He is successful in Iraq and yemen, 100%. Partially successful in Lebanon, trying in Bahrain and Pakistan. Tehreek e Nafaz e Fiqa Jafria, the name tells itself the whole story.
There are multiple reasons for sectarian bloodshed in Pakistan. But it's obvious that Pakistan govt is always acting like a banana republic govt.

No he's not. He's making it clear that the community itself is also involved in sectarian violence. They are not the completely innocent party they claim to be. In the media and the public, their ethnic and religious leaders cry bloody murder yet the same leaders actively support and at the very least turna blind eye to their own kin commiting sectarian acts of violence. Maybe they should sit in the roads and protest that the hazara terrorists from amongst themselves also come back home and stop commiting terrorism in Syria?

In his statement he has clearly said that innocent people are killed in Pakistan because of sectarian violence, for years that has predominantly been shia victims of wahhabi groups. The security force will come as a great relief to a community which is being targetted but at the same time, the long term solution for this is multi pronged. Other people have mentioned larger operations, more intelligence involvement, and @Maarkhoor mentioned the involvement some hazara people have in sectarian conflict abroad. It is just as legitimate a security requirement as stopping groups like IS or anyone else who operates outside the writ of the Pakistani state.
