Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi is scheduled to fly into Islamabad on a day-long visit on March 18 to hold talks with his Pakistani counterpart, Asif Ali Zardari on pressing regional and international issues, an official source said.

“Mursi will be visiting Pakistan on an invitation from President Zardari,” the source said, adding that Mursi will travel to New Delhi from Islamabad on a state visit.

There is no particular agenda for the talks, the source said. However, issues such as Afghanistan, global terrorism, Middle East politics and matters of bilateral interest will figure in talks.

Mursi had previously cancelled his visit to Islamabad where he was scheduled to attend the Developing-8 nations’ summit on November 22, 2012.

He will be the first Egyptian leader to visit Pakistan in 37 years. In 1974, the then Egyptian leader Anwar Sadat had attended the second OIC summit in Lahore hosted by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

An address to the specially convened joint session of Parliament, meetings with key political leaders are also part of his schedule.

    State visit: Mursi accepts Zardari

Two clowns are going to meet for some gangam style fun - nothing else.

Morsi has no answer to pressing Egyptian problems but he is keen to act like busy in doing something.

Possibly but it's a bit of basket case - he may be seeking "bilateral" stuff, telling the Indians that Egypt is a good investment, now that alcohol dancing and soon the very idea of "joy" will be brought under the ambit of Real Islam (and thereby cleansing them of their essence)

Mate, BRIC or as of now BRICS was a concept developed to bring 4 nations together on the same platform, they were ELITE in the sense that these 4 were the fastest growing BIG economies, i even din't wanted RSA to join it, now if even Egypt wants to join it, it makes no sense, since soon u'll see Indonesia, Turkey, etc. also claiming there place in the grouping, than whats the sense of an ELITE grouping when it won't remain ELITE anymore & will just replace a G-20 or a G-77???

I am against any further addition in the grouping.

@arp2041 I know about BRICS and BRIC. Even few people started talking about Indonesia replacing India in BRIC. But that won't happen.

For Indonesia, Mexico, etc. there is already some other term used. I don't think their will be any addition to this group.
