Variation in procurement sources is the political policy pushing for deals like this one.In terms of military requirements, there's a large fleet of Gazelles that still carries out the attack role armed with HOT atgms that require a replacement.

Although I doubt the scout variants of the Gazelle will be replaced with this type.

diversification of suppliers can be a good thing to a limit , Egypt passed that limit long ago

Germany relied on different suppliers within the same country , how is it comparable to relying on different suppliers
    from completely different countries

Are you sure you can compare the Germans to Egyptians ?

    yes and no

in situations mostly they are a like. German like other many country got cut from arms race
now you know arm sales got regulation which force to look to other sources which showed in ww1 and ww2 bening a hindrance and a tactic acording to German Tank Maintenance in World War II By Historical Division, EUCOM
