Tajiks traditionally have idol worshipping culture, so do Tibetans, which we don't see in other parts of China, they believe Mao was the "red sun"

not true, in many rural areas, lots of Han people do that too, including my father.
every year before Chinese new year he would buy a new one to replace the old one. LOL
and I have a Chairman Mao’s badge in my car, like this one.

so glad to see that every home is hanging a picture of Chairman Mao, they know who is really care for them.
and when I travelled in Sichuan, I saw Chairman Mao’ picture in Tibeten‘s home too.
Tajiks have always been the strongest supporters of the Chinese central govt.
When general Zuo Zongtang recovered Xinjiang in the Qing Dynasty, the whole Tajik people joined Zuo Zongtang's army to fight for China.
In 1955, they helped Peng Dehuai and Zhang Zhizhong establish the Xinjiang Autonomous Region.
Now, almost all the young people in Tajik are border militia, who are responsible for guarding the border of Pamir Plateau.
Tajiks' loyalty to their country has stood the test of history.

Cause CCP and Mao saved them from total annihilation by the Uighur militia

During the Ili Rebellion from 1944 to 1949, Uyghur forces butchered the livestock of the Tajiks as they advanced south.[14]Uyghurs insurgents who were backed by Soviets destroyed Tajik crops and acted aggressively against the Tajiks and Kirghiz of China.[15]

Someone should put some subtitles on the videos,
I was so very much into understanding these videos.
the girl in the video introduced that the Wakhan Corridor is the gateway to China throughout the history, Buddhism was brought to China through this corridor, a big rock in the video has red inscription "Doorway of Buddhism" in it, Marco polo also entered China through this pass. The Wakhan Corridor is the true bridge between the East and the West.

Maybe you reversed the causality.
As early as the Qing Dynasty, the Tajiks took part in the war to help Zuo Zongtang eliminate Mohammad Yaqub beg, so the Uighur directly attacked the Tajiks during the rebellion. Because the rebels knew that the Tajiks would not support them.

Civilian border control rangers in Tashkurgan, most local Tajik herders are hired by the government as border contral rangers, they take turns to do the border control job and get about 500$ per person monthly salary from the government.

First flight arrived in Tashkurgan Khunjerab airport on May.18 2022

Protected underground facilities at the airport in Tashkurgan

Recent high-resolution satellite images by Planet suggest that China is developing underground facilities at the airport in Tashkurgan. Analysis by India Today confirms the likely dual-use nature of the upcoming airport. Along with the underground facilities, there is construction on other parts of the airbase. Blacktopping of the runways and structure of the terminal area, along with deployment of stone crushing machines, land moving equipment, and construction trucks, is visible in the imagery.

The strategic importance of Tashkurgan

Tashkurgan is near the borders of Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Azad Kashmir (Azad Kashmir). China, which has an apparent vested interest in the region as it has heavily invested in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), will have an edge due to the strategic location of the airbase in Tashkurgan. Portrayed as ‘civil purpose or tourist,’ the airport holds more strategic value than the tourist spot given the few Chinese tourists visiting these areas.

Tajiks are historically Muslim although these pasturalists are probably not very strict. They are not historically idol worshipers.

Now students in these high plateau mountainous regions no longer have to trek through the Pamir snow mountains to get to the schools like their older siblings had to do barely a decade ago, school buses safely and comfortably take the students to the schools and bring them back home for every household with police escort.
Thanks to the police for their hard work to take care of the local children
