If you are interested in spending your vacation in Pakistan, know that the country is a paradise for people who love trekking or hiking. The scenery is breathtaking. However, most nationalities need to acquire a visa before traveling to Pakistan. Fortunately, Pakistan adopted the electronic visa system, meaning that if you are eligible, you can apply for your travel document online. 175 nationalities are currently on the list of eligible nationalities, so your chances of being able to get one are high.

How can I find out if I am eligible for a Pakistan eVisa?
That is simple. All you have to do is to do some research about Pakistan’s visa policy. A simple Google search will do. If your nationality is on the list, you have the option of applying for the travel document you need using an online visa service.

What does the online application process imply?
If you find out that you are eligible for an eVisa, you will enjoy a simplified application process. The first thing you have to do is to make sure that you meet a few requirements. Fortunately, they are not as extensive as when you use the services of a Pakistani embassy or consulate.

First of all, you have to make sure that you have a valid passport. You should also take a look at its expiry date to make sure that it stays valid for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in Pakistan. You need a recent digital passport photo as well. Other requirements include a travel itinerary, a return flight ticket, proof of accommodation, and proof of legal residence if you are applying from a different country other than the one of origin. The visa service you are using asks that you have an online method of payment and a valid e-mail address because the Pakistan eVisa arrives via e-mail in PDF format. You are required to print it out before you leave for Pakistan.

As soon as you put together all of the above, you can proceed to fill in an online application form. That is an easy task compared to government forms. Once you carefully complete the form, you can submit it, and the document will be ready in just a matter of days.

The Pakistan eVisa is a single-entry visa. It remains valid for 90 days since the date of your arrival in Pakistan, and you are not permitted to stay inside the country for more than 30 days.

One important note is that the Pakistan eVisa is not accepted at all points of entry in Pakistan. There are 20 specific land border checkpoints, seaports, and airports that consider this document to be valid. They are as follows:

    - Islamabad Airport

    - Lahore Airport

    - Peshawar Airport

    - Karachi Airport

    - Quetta Airport

    - Multan Airport

    - Rahim Yar Khan Airport

    - Bahawalpur Airport

    - Faisalabad Airport

    - Wahga Land Route

    - Wahga Railway Station

    - Khokarapar Railway Station

    - Karachi Sea Port

    - Ghassbandar Sea Port

    - Port Bin Qasim

    - Taftan Land Route

    - Gwadar Airport

    - Gwada Sea Port

    - Sost Land Route

    - Sialkot Airport

If you are planning one entering Pakistan using another border checkpoint, you have to go to the nearest Pakistani embassy and apply for a standard visa.

As you can see, the online process of acquiring a Pakistan eVisa is far more accessible than actually having to go to an embassy. The electronic visa system is supposed to improve Pakistan’s tourism, and travelers are more likely to choose a country that provides a simplified visa application process as their vacation destination.
