Vietnam is the most affected downstream country as the Mekong River flows into the South China Sea near Ho Chi Minh City. Saltwater intrusion from the sea compounds the problem and exacerbated droughts of 2019 and 2020. This rapid expansion of hydropower threatens all countries that share the Lower Mekong Basin with downstream Cambodia and Vietnam at greatest riskThey are ignore that one with his moronic writings. What I'm trying to imply is that 🇮🇳 NE region especially Arunachal and Assam gets 30٪ of it's fresh water resources from the Brahmaputra river which naturally originates from Tibet (now under Chinese occupation). If China wants to divert the water flow, then we've many other options like the 2,585 MW project on River Sankosh. The project received grant money from a partnership between Bhutan and India in 2017 and will be one of the largest hydropower project in the region. The project cost is $1.65 billion which is an ambitious and expensive project for a small country with a GDP of $2.7 billion.
Water-rich Bhutan, Myanmar and Nepal sit on vast untapped hydropower reserves and 🇮🇳 is investing heavily on hydro-power projects
