Well India just bought jets from France, and they want those jets, so they might have followed france, for their own interest. I was shocked that India followed others, instead of leading.

Get your facts corrected buddy, actually Jet deal was more important to France and Britain than India. Defence industry in both UK and France are struggling and $20 Billion deal was like a Jackpot. Google how Britain is reacting after the deal and trying to re-persuade India to buy Eurofighter instead of Rafale.

The thing is Indian government never follow US or EU in their foreign policy. There are some other reasons they voted against Syria. The mentality of Indian communist still is of cold war era that is anti-US but majority of Indians are not anti-US.

It is understandable that India is keeping a low profile, but on this point the Communists have taken a position that is not unreasonable.

However, the Communists are very problematic on other issues. It is not related to Syria.

Bro, don't get me wrong, I respect India and the people of India. However, a strong nation like India changed it mind about Syria, India, Brazil, South Africa always stood with Syria, however i was surprised because India a strong nation and South Africa changed its stand about Syria.

No, but don't assume that what the broken clock is telling you is automatically false.

The resolution got vetoed, India's vote would not have made any practical difference.

However, if we had voted against the resolution it would have caused trouble for us, which would have immediately been exploited by others.

Yes. I certainly see major problems with the CPI(M), especially their governance of West Bengal. However, I feel that if the CPI(M) were to breakthrough as a major party it could add some important issues that the Congress and BJP parties are ignoring.

I didn't feel wrong or bad. India voted against Syria but didn't advocate for Libya Type Regime change as advocated by US and EU. Our government went in their own way, they are also working on their own way in case of Iran sanctions also.

As for Indian people are concerned we Indians keep negative views only against Pakistanis or Chinese. We keep positive views for Europeans, US, Russia, Brazil. For Arab world we mostly prefer not to interfere in their matters. But we Indians keep more positive views towards Iranians compared to Saudis. As for our economy is concerned, we support trade and commerce even with our enemies.

The Political Party mentioned above is Communist Party of India(marxist) which is the largest communist party in India and they still follow cold war era mentality of anti-Americanism and generally don't reflect what majority Indians think.

As a Indian I myself feel amazed that whole Arab World and west was quiet for Bahrain but making loud sound for Syria.
