Per social media he is here with his wife, daughters, son in laws - and all of them are staying at the Dorchester hotel. Wonder if there is any truth to this? And if yes, who is paying for this all?

Being a Pakistani judge doesn't pay that well. Just done a check - rooms starting at £621.43 per night, meaning a 7 night stay would cost: £4,350.01 or PKR 748,433 (not including other expenses).

And that's assuming that he stayed in the cheapest room and didn't pay for other family members too.

I saw that. And if it's a personal trip and paid for by own legal earnings - then I have absolutely no problem with it.

    Hope you are right.

    Now i have doubts.

    :hitwall::hitwall::hitwall::hitwall::hitwall::hitwall::hitwall::hitwall:

Even if paid for by organisers of the dam fund would makes it unethical and hypocritical.

But yes, no concrete news yet and I may be jumping the gun here.

Amir Khan was 1 of the organizers ....please learn to read multiple sources to get a whole picture ...that is why I post from more than 1 source:

We are not sure so no point even raising the issue YET! when info about his flight payment is aired then you can raise the eyebrow (even then wait for full news as we all know how our news broadcasters are and will air any half baked news for ratings) for now chill!

Being a top judge does pay well in any country. Not everyone needs to be hand to mouth in Pakistan. Big difference from a uneducated politican and heavily educated judge.

CJ Nisar arrives in London for Diamer-Bhasha dam funding

LONDON: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar arrived in London on a week-long trip from today.

The chief justice was welcomed by Prime Minister Imran Khan's special assistant Anil Musarrat, Additional Advocate General and a few other government functionaries at the Heathrow Airport.

The chief justice will meet the representatives of Pakistani community-based in the United Kingdom during his trip, and will also attend the graduation ceremony of his son, Najam Saqib.

The chief justice will speak in a fund-raising event for Diamer-Bhasha dam organised by lawyers, and a number of charity organisations at a hotel in central London tomorrow (Thursday).

As per a schedule of the CJP's fund-raising trip, he will depart for Britain today and will attend an event at Lincoln’s Inn in London on November 21.

Further, on November 23, the top judge will attend a fund-raising dinner in Manchester organised by Aneel Musarrat. On the same day, Geo News International will start a live telethon from Manchester for the construction of the dams.

Sorry, I get triggered whenever I see someone high up in Pakistan meeting this idiot.

    Agreed.

You're right, I'm wrong. According to this source:

"According to details shared with the Senate, the chief justice of Pakistan withdraws about Rs846,549 as a month’s salary and is also granted Rs370,597 as superior judicial allowance. Furthermore if the chief justice is not provided official residence, he is also entitled to receive Rs68,000 as house rent."

I genuinely didn't think it was this high, and having checked the actual figures I realise that CJP could indeed afford such a trip and stay. I should have checked rather than assuming - my fault :hitwall:

Also, rates at the Dorchester start at only GBP 525 per night and go up from there.
