You haven't seen <The Wandering Earth>, so you don't understand why I recommend this film<The Wandering Earth> . It is a typical Chinese thinking, facing the end of the world, the choices of the Chinese people will be very different from those of the westerners. You can see the Chinese way of thinking from this film.

Describe that Chinese way of thinking when facing the end of the world. I am not a Westerner.

The Chinese had refuse to let a few elites leave by spaceship, but make a huge plan to escape with the earth.
Hollywood's Doomsday films will never have the idea of running away with the earth, and Westerners will not agree to save every life. We just need to look at the different paths chosen by China and the West in the face of COVID19.

Westerners know bruce lee, chow yun fat, jet li, jackie chan etc. Westerners don't know a single name in bollywood. U can't compare bollywood which is a joke with Chinese film industry which has created many international stars and movie titles.

In recent years, I have seen very good sci-fi, fantasy movies from the Chinese cinema industry. In these areas, they are long ahead of Bolywood. Although it is not in my area of interest, it is a fact that Bollywood has brought many works to world cinema too, especially in genres such as drama and romantic comedy.

Sci-fi writers tackle how to move the Earth
SPACE 20 October 2008
By Jeff Hecht
The Sun will one day engulf the Earth, leading scientists to ponder how to move the planet out to a safer orbit.
The problem of moving worlds has also provided inspiration for science-fiction writers and filmmakers:
Stanley Schmidt had aliens build giant rocket engines at the South Pole to move the Earth in his novel The Sins of the Fathers;
Gregory Feeley focused large amounts of solar power to move the Moon and Venus so they shared the Earth’s orbit in his novel The Oxygen Barons;

Nuclear explosions push the Earth out of its orbit in the movie The Day the Earth Caught Fire;
Derryl Murphy folded the fabric of space and time to move Earth in his far-future story Those Graves of Memory;
The aliens who moved the Sun out of the solar system in David Dvorkin’s novel Central Heat used “technology so advanced that it looked like magic to the people of Earth”, he said, playing on Arthur C Clarke‘s third law of forecasting the future.

Ha ha, thanks. I was actually googling in with such keywords in the afternoon but couldn't find.

@MH.Yang

And Chinese films are mostly jokes about people shouting "Haiya hai !" while fighting and actually flying about.

Although it is not in my area of interest, it is a fact that Bollywood has brought many works to world cinema too, especially in genres such as drama and romantic comedy.
I will recommend one Bollywood film - Rocket Singh : Salesman of the Year. It is about a young new joinee in a computer sales company, getting disillusioned there and starting a company of his own with partners are from the first company and all partners being equal owners in the new company and the business model being of honesty. Quite Socialist. It's a superb film, provides inspiration to anyone wanting to start a company.

Off Topic. Since, you are equally very fond of both "lovely" women as well as "Laal Inqilaab"; what are your views about this "lovely" Kangana Ranaut. :lol: :lol:

Let me remind you that the link you provide is to change the orbit of the earth in the solar system. The wandering earth program refers to taking the earth to another galaxy.
Secondly, the original work of wandering the earth was created in 2000. The books you provided were created around 2008.

Liu Cixin, author of <The Wandering Earth>. In 2015, Liu Cixin won the Hugo Award, the highest award in the field of science fiction. Obama, Hawking, Bill Gates, etc are his loyal fans. When Obama was president of the USA, he specially attended the press conference of Liu Cixin new book.

Hong kong movies are part of Chinese movies, Bruce Lee, Jackie Chen...can beat any Bollywood stars when it comes to internatinal fame.
I didn't include HK movies because they were popular when HK was under British control - but you can in some ways cause of similar culture

And if you do include HK, than yes
They were very popular- imo even the Korean craze rn isn't matching the game of those Kung Fu movies

Bollywood back in the day was not bad imo- had a message and if there wasn't one it was atleast.good entertainment, now it's garbage, I'll be completely honest
It's simply not good enough, especially with so much competition

Personally from my experience now I can watch Korean movie, because I am a pakistani I can watch a Pakistani drama or even a Turkish drama, if I am not feeling anything I can watch webseries on Netflix, Hulu etc

So the industry is very competitive, you can't sell trash nowadays in global markets

The Wandering Earth has an interesting premise but from my remote perspective it may represent new Chinese films and not the normal ones. The normals seem to me usually the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon types, all the "Haiya Hai !" fighting and flying around types.

Also, Wandering Earth seems to have too much of CGI. Even the American three-episode TV series, Dune, from 2001 which I watched on YouTube, has much better visuals and story building than what I have seen from the trailer of Wandering Earth. WE seems more like that hurried Hollywood film Armageddon.
I saw Wandering Earths too, also the Great Wall movie. Most of these Chinese big budget films seems to have poor story and acting, nothing much other than CG. Korea has good movies like "Train to Busan". Wandering Earth doesn't come anywhere next to Train to Busan.
