I read the OP to figure out how this computer works but accept bla bla there is nothing in substance.
What have 113 detected photons to do with supercomputing and quantum?

It works by some physics we don't understand here as readers and they haven't explained it. That doesn't mean the physics being used and the machine doesn't work. There is a pretty important difference but it's no surprise you write the way you do about it lol.

General Electric publications and articles writing about new GE engines don't tell you how the engine works either. There is no substance in the article doesn't mean there is no substance in the computer.
Why are you guys ignoring the other ones?
This was 2018
Google has gone with processor method it seems. I don't know anything about quantum computing methods used but understand that Google's more conventional method and the photon based Chinese method are different approaches.

Look at this article on Google's processor.

All bla blah blah nothing of substance at all. What has 72qubit processor got to do with supercomputing and quantum? lol of course EVERYTHING! Just because you are dumb and an article doesn't explain every single science behind a new invention doesn't mean the experts who work on these are just as dumb and full of bla blah... Only you are bla bla nothing.

Not correct
Google tells in papers how their quantum superpower is built and works.
It’s quantum mechanics. I don’t think there is a difference between western quantum mechanics and chinese mechanics. It’s as if quantum has a color or race.

What does all this mean?
encryption is essentially setting up a complicated password. the only way to find a password is through trial and error. by checking all possible combinations. the time to check all possible combinations can possibly take your entire lifetime, if your processing power is low.

with the rise in quantum computing comes a rise in processing power. No password is safe, all conventional means of encryption are now useless.
no encryption means all your secrets are now in the open. ready to be accessed.

you dont need a quantum computer to do many things, it only needs to do one thing and do it quickly.

Traditional computer relies on eletrons for the on and off (0 and 1) data bits but then electrons travel far far slower than photons. A photon travels at light speed delivers much great processing speed. Photons are already used in our daily fibre-optic data transmission for decades, and is common in home internet usage nowadays but these fibre-optics lines are connected to metal cables at some point which slows their speed because data transmitted by photons are converted to much slower electronic data.

Manupulating photons to switch on and off (0 and 1) to transmit bits of data, and to do data processing purely by photons is still extremely difficult, but not undoable.

Congratulation to China. Quantum computer is literally light year ahead in data processing speed.

You mean like how we had running quantum computers years before you guys? We even have them open to public use since 2016 while yours are stuck in some lab...
You mean China surpass you in quantum computing in 5 years in a quantum-leap style, that from nothing to billions of billions of billions times faster?

You said that about #1 supercomputers too with supa-dupa made-in-China chips...but then China fell off a cliff and has fallen down the list and all the Chinese PDF members don't talk about it anymore.

So what, you dont even seem to be very quiet even through your quantum superslowcomputer is billions of billions of billions time slower.

And have you check the recent news? China just fielded the world first two exa-scale supercomputers, now dont waste my time and stop embarrassing yourself even further.

This is all they can say freedom this and that, human rights this and that. Journalism has really gone down to the toilets.
That account belongs to a cookie cutter U.S. regime puppet disseminating U.S. regime propaganda lies and disinformation, fuming over Chinese achievements on behest (read: payroll) of his super duper rogue regime for domestic consumption by an already brainwashed and indoctrinated U.S. population and keep them high on the drugs. The only aspect of journalism they fullfill is that they are disseminating their drivel on a "daily" basis. They don't deserve any more attention than some brainless bot spouting nonsense.

You compare something you "aim at"
They are actually aiming at 1,000 right now and envision a journey 10,000 after that and after that 100,000 and after that 1,000,000
The thing is everyone is "aiming" for more, faster, bigger, smaller, better right now (thats the whole point of this Chinese record news), so there is no point to the whole cope post even if was worth "bragging" about such "aims", but being intellectually honest doesn't make the best smartass troll post to cope with Chinas achievements while not actually saying anything of value. 🙄
