Finally an operational J-16D with unfortunately its serial numbers not readable. But due to the "old-style" nozzle feathers of the original WS-10B it must be from Batch 01 since Batch 02 uses the newer WS-10B Series 3 with the longer nozzle feathers

Besides longer runways, has the use of Y-20 tankers increased to allow fighters to takeoff with less fuel and a full weapons load out, when operating from the Tibetan plateau?

Taking off in full afterburner looks great, but uses up a lot of fuel. Any indication the J-11/J-16 operating in Tibet have the latest engines, with the higher dry thrust, so they don’t need to take off in full afterburner?
