Chinese Company to Establish a Research Center in Collaboration with COMSATS

A Chinese LED manufacturer called Heroboss Technology is interested in establishing an LED Research Center in collaboration with COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) to conduct research on LED technology.
The Chairperson of Heroboss Technology, Wang Chun Ping, announced this while heading a delegation of three Chinese state-owned enterprises in CUI on Tuesday.
The Rector of CUI, Professor Dr. Tabassum Afzal, agreed to the proposal and suggested that internship and exchange mechanisms can be used to engage technology and engineering students.
He revealed that CUI is headed in the direction of product-oriented research where Chinese technology can play a vital role.
Fan Yan Hong from China Gezhouba (CGGC) said that his company is among the top 500 state-owned enterprises working in Pakistan since 2008 and the company’s projects include the 1000 MW Neelum Jehlum Project, the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project Kaghan, the Mohmand Dam, and the Dassu Hydropower Project.
He revealed that his company is interested in cooperating with academia in Pakistan to develop collaborative research projects. He also donated masks to CUI as an act of corporate social responsibility.
The delegation comprised Bai Jie, and Baseer Ahmed from Heroboss Technology, Ha Li from China Gezhouba (CGGC), and Wang Peng and Adil from LEDCENT China.
