What i find interesting is when i ask chinese people if they would buy a chinese car - they all say no - as they cite poor reliability of the cars and poor customer support to fix things.
Maybe things have changed - but it take decades to build brand recognition and reputation - just ask the Japanese and Koreans. It will take some time before people take Chinese cars in the west, seriously..
When did you conducted a survey of chinese people?
BTW ,Like 2 Chinese brands started exporting evs in EU from last 1or 2 years only.Chinese eV brands and their latest and most top selling models, aren't even available in Europe, since they can't keep up with demand in china alone.
Only one brand BYD has some scaling capabilities now,but even them ,hires local dealers to procure foreign orders instead of manufacturing locally. Still car brands like byd atto3 ( even leaving the chinese owned brands like MG, polestar) are pulling ahead with specs offered. If byd were to manufacture them in local factories like Toyota,vw,Kia,hyundai ,and further reduced their cost markups, then the likes of byd will eat likely eat up their competitor like they do in china since this year.
