To give you some perspective, let us consider the EF-111 platform. Each EF-111 variant was equipped with two powerful engines (87 kN + 87 kN = 174 kN total). EF-111 was very impressive on paper.
However, American pilots admitted that they found EA-6B Prowler to be far more effective than EF-111 in dedicated EW roles. There was much difference in onboard power generation mechanisms.
EA-6B Prowler proved its mettle in Syrian air space as well. It was involved in NATO strikes on Syrian military assets in 2018. Russia opposed this mission but its defenses in the region were insufficient.
EA-6B Prowler is retired and replaced by EA-18G Growler. The latter is better than its predecessor in all aspects.
These jet fighters also have classified aspects to them. Therefore.
The core of EW is DRFM. The digital part is easily implemented by FPGA (not easy actually). Then there is this RF Front end part. Not so easy to make wide band high power multimode.Loose lips sink ships. Future wars are gonna be decided by who has the best EW.
