Well, any building should obey the local laws and regulation. There used to be some leniency towards religious building, but it is increasingly not so, since the gov't push for "rule of law".

Netizens question crude demolishment of local earth temples

Chinese netizens continue to criticize local authorities in East China's Jiangsu Province over their policy of demolishing temples which worship local gods. This is despite the authorities' explanation that the temples were illegal and affecting the daily life of local residents.

Many users of China's Twitter-like social media Sina Weibo posited that authorities in Gaoyou, Jiangsu, were cracking down on folk religions after the authorities reportedly have demolished 5,911 temples of local gods in only 26 days.

A staff member from the Gaoyou publicity department on Tuesday told The Beijing News that the campaign is aimed at illegal temples that have affected local residents' daily lives and has nothing to do with religion.

The campaign started January 1 and will last until June 30, thepaper.cn reported Tuesday.

It was aimed at regulating temples that not only acquired land illegally but also triggered competitive spirits among local residents, the report said, citing the Gaoyou publicity department director Pan Jianqi.

A luxury temple can cost as much as 480,000 yuan ($72,000). Some local residents even spent 60,000 yuan to purchase a copper incense burner, deputy township head of Ganduo, Gaoyou, told thepaper.cn.

Burning incense in these temples has also reportedly damaged the local environment.

Reports of Gaoyou authorities demolishing folk temples, however, went viral on Chinese social media with many criticizing Gaoyou of cracking down on these temples while investing money in building mosques.

Gaoyou is home to the largest mosque in eastern China that was built in 1995 in the Hui ethnic township of Lingtang, the only Hui ethnic township in Jiangsu.

But many others noted that the two moves are entirely unrelated and need not be confused.

    No Kurdistan coming.

Kurds are an Iranic people who are close in culture and language to Turks.

They are also related to Pakistani Baloch.

I think the more likely outcome will be that Syrian, Iraqi Kurdish areas will co-opted into Turkey.

This is because the whole world realizes that PKK is a threat to peace.

About Armenia, lol, let Azerbaijan have a chance and Nagorbo-Karabakh will return to Azeri hands.

Well look at it this way:

The reason of what you said is because Muslims and Islamic civilization(s) are for so vast and widespread.

Muslim lands border Europe, Russia, China, Africa, and India. Muslim lands border every single major ocean on the planet (whether its Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, or Indian Ocean etc)

So offcourse, its only natural that such a global civilizational order and presence will invite a lot of conflicts too.

Its okay though...conflicts are most on the periphery of Islamic world. And despite the conflicts, Islam/Muslims continue to expand globally---economically, politically, militarily, and most notably demographically (this is where Chinese, Europeans, Koreans, and soon indians would be struggling---Demographics! But at the same, Muslims have their own challenges like economy and political stability. So we are all similar in that we all have our own struggles and challenges to over come)

Armenians inside and outside of Armenia will support the building of Greater Armenia with Mediterranean and Caspian Sea ports.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Armenia

Between the Kurdistan Worker's Republic and Greater Armenia, there will not be much of Turkey left. Their ancestors were crushed by the Han Dynasty more than two thousand years ago and it looks like they want a re-match.

China is not going to play defense while seperatists operate on our territory. We take the fight to the terrorists wherever they may hide! The Uighurs were once rebellious. Now they are obedient and loyal to Beijing. Model citizens!

Good luck with that. Look forward to the Armenian and some random Chinese PDF alliance.

May you all suffer the same defeats as Armenians in their first failed war against Turks, even with Russian backing and Turkey fighting multiple European powers.

Turkey is not a weak nation, they defeated all major world powers at Gallipoli.
This is where Atatürk gained fame.

Every Muslim nation in the region, and most of all, majority of Kurds, despise PKK.

Once US exits Syria and Israel loses influence, they will collapse and be hunted down by Turks like in Afrin.

Already in Iraq, Barzani has largely replaced them.

Firstly like I said, you need to calm down and relax.

2nd, did you even read and understand my post?

3rd, so you are telling me that you changed your opinion just after interacting with few online Pakistanis, but what about millions other? Or the govt of Pakistan? Did they ever interfered? Pakistani society is very open, people here protest against the govt and army of Pakistan. Don't have such weak opinions that can be sunk by few unknown online accounts.

I am still pro-Pakistan but looking at the behavior of your countrymen a certain amount of shock has set in. I recognize now that Muslim countries respect power. USA can crush Muslim countries and most Muslims can turn a blind eye because US is powerful. When China tames an openly rebellious minority, Muslims are ready to jump up and down because China is perceived as weak. Our taming of a rebellious Muslim minority is perceived as illegitimate.

Muslims around the world don't want to be safe from bombing from the air or a Israeli concentration camps but rather Muslims don't want to be oppressed by people they deem too weak to legitimately oppress them. When China proves that it is as strong as Russia and USA, then the feeling of anger will be replaced by a feeling of helplessness and Muslims will get on with their lives.

I bet two years ago the Chinese leadership expected the Muslim world to be naturally grateful for a country that might save them from being constantly bombed by the US. Now the Chinese leadership realizes that there is no gratitude at all as long as the new power is not a Muslim power itself. The only attitude against non-Muslim powers is to prostrate before the most powerful one.

Compared to USA, China and Russia, all other countries are weak. The Turks thought that China has the power of Myanmar or Vietnam. Actually, they messed with the second most powerful country in the world and their arrogance is going to cost them.
