The China-Central Asia Gas Pipeline delivered over 47.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas to China in 2019, PetroChina West Pipeline Company said on Jan 6.

The pipeline runs from the border between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, passes through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and links up with China’s West-to-East gas pipeline in Horgos, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

China’s first transnational gas pipeline, with a total length of 1,833 km and a designed annual gas transmission capacity of 60 billion cubic meters per year, has been operating stably and safely for 10 years since it was put into operation in December 2009.

As of Dec 31, 2019, 294.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas had been imported via the pipeline, benefiting over 500 million people in 27 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, and the Hong Kong Special administrative region, the company said.

The natural gas imports via the pipeline account for more than 15 percent of China’s total consumption in the same period.

URUMQI, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- The China-Kazakhstan oil pipeline has delivered more than 10.88 million tonnes of crude oil to China in 2019, said the PetroChina West Pipeline Company on Thursday.

With a total length of 2,800 kilometers, China's first overland cross-border crude oil pipeline runs from the city of Atyrau to Atasu in Kazakhstan, passes through the Alataw Pass and links up with PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Company, one of China's major petrochemical producers in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The China-Kazakhstan pipeline has not only helped expand China's crude oil import channels but also diversified Kazakhstan's crude oil exports and strengthened energy cooperation between China and the countries along the Belt and Road.

Crude oil piped from Kazakhstan to China held steady last year. A total of 130 million tonnes of crude oil has been delivered to China from the commissioning of the pipeline in 2006 to Dec. 31, 2019, the pipeline operator said.
