Could production be halted for a time while some sort of upgraded version is in the works?
Unlikely and again, it seems not that production has suspended, but deliveries!

I dont think china will spend more time on J10Unlikely and again, it seems not that production has suspended, but deliveries!
In case I once again did not notice sarcasm, I already apologise, BUT NO:Here is a picture of a J-10 C parked at Masroor Airbase,Pakistan. You can see words BANDIT, which is a name of a PAF group. There is also a Pakistani green flag. Which confirm that PAF has unknown number of J-10 C jet fighters.

Follow up on the Chengdu J-10C delivery issues.

Recently we revealed that deliveries of the Chengdu J-10C single engine fighter to the People's Liberation Army - Air Force (PLAAF, Chinese Air Force) seem to have been stopped. See the Scramble Magazine news item of 23 January 2021.
With the picture shown today multiple rows of fighters can be seen standing idle at Chengdu/Huangtianba, with all the flight sheds behind stuffed with J-20 fighters preparing for there test flights.
Although some believe that the J-10s are stored whilst waiting until an order for the J-10CEs with Pakistan is signed, a more probable reason could be that the locally developed Shenyang WS-10B engine has not yet been qualified for operational use. In November 2019 the first aircraft of production batch 05 was noted with this engine, but no WS-10B powered aircraft have been seen operational yet.
All operational aircraft noted are still powered by the Russian Saturn AL-31FN engine.
One picture is of an air base and the other is just some grass. Here an interesting summary of the situation at CAC: According to local spotters there are no longer that many J-10s at CAC and they were said to be delivered already. As such the most likely explanation is, that there was/is a slip in production of one item - eventually the engines - maybe caused due to COVID-related production issues so that this batch of J-10C had been waiting for their engines.
But again, there is no hint that they are for Pakistan and as such why again here a new thread in the PAF section?
Maybe modified J-10 with
- Type 1475 (KLJ-5) active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar with 1856 transmit/receive modules or similar Radar.
- EOTS-86 electro-optical targeting system (EOTS)[43]
- EORD-31 infrared search and track
- Distributed aperture system (DAS)

China will never allow PAF J-10C be equipped with Turkish avionics. The most with Turkish targeting pod which wouldn't affect most of the network system.I am hopeful that we will hear good news about J-10CE coming to Pakistan. It can be further upgrade/customized with Turkish ASELSAN EW self-protection suite (SPEWS-II), Advance AESA Radar, Electro-optical targeting system (EOTS), long range AAM to match the performance of Rafale.
of course, China will not do for itself, but what if Pakistan wants to do exactly that? Either China will make a better targeting pod or allow Pakistan to integrate that with it. The answer is, both are available for Pakistan all the time. It will bring Turkey and China closer.China will never allow PAF J-10C be equipped with Turkish avionics. China will eventually allow Pakistan to integrated non- Chinese sub-systems from Turkey.of course, China will not do for itself, but what if Pakistan wants to do exactly that?
