Is this the same radar in the J-10C? And if not, why not? I would have thought upgrading the earlier A models to a common configuration similar to the C model would improve operations and pilot training.

It can't be the one on the J-10C since that one is liquid-cooled and would require extensive modifications to the internal structure just to get it installed. This one is air-cooled.
