I hope this will give some awareness to the US public and they will strive against the bloody war US has imposed not only in Afghanistan or Pakistan rather all around the world. Many innocent families have lost their sons not only in Pakistan , Afghanistan or Iraq but also in US just for the sake of protecting fake egos of few sitting in the white house and pentagon .

Wars are not the solution for everything if they would have been then the world wouldn't have been a devilish place after "world war 2 "By war you don't end the terrorists but you create many more

We should start posting former Taliban fighters who protest against Taliban and Al Qaeda and the injustice they have caused against Afghan and Pakistan civilians.

The plea of the father of the captured US soldier is heartbreaking. Islam provides safety to the POWs and asks for no violence or mistreatment against those whom you overpower.

We must remember that the Prophet SAW freed the POWs of the Quraish upon their agreement to provide education to Muslims. I do hope that in this holy month of Ramadan , his son would be freed.

I don't understand ,,,, if these parents are so worried now WHY did they send their children to this part of the world ?

NOW that this worried father is appealing, how many letters did he write to his senators and what steps did he take to end the war ?

    what a hypocrite.

All the nice things he is saying , all the mercy, and God talk, but is he willing to equate ?
will the Americans pay in blood as much as we have spilled ?

How many parents in Afghanistan, in Pakistan lost their children ? were they any less of parents ? were their children not dear enough ?

    Enough said.

This guy doesn't know how the military of any country works.

You don't CHOOSE where and when you get deployed. When you sign up to fight for your country, YOU ARE DONE. You can't just LEAVE. Unless you act out like a retard and get a dishonorable discharge. And that's pathetic.

Yes. The views of a captured US soldier in the custody of the "merciful" taliban is legit! How kind of the taliban that they allow him to express "his views" against the "hegemonic imperialistic crusading" western forces in Afghanistan!!!

Or a case of the Stockholm syndrome?

And idiots buying this is priceless!! Lulz.

The whole thing is just sad, and hopefully the violence will soon end... he'll be home, as will all the young men fighting in the region.

With that said, this sort of exploitation is crude. Our pilots in Vietnam were brutally tortured and imprisoned for several years, and were also exploited like this young man. I still remember American pilots on the news, speaking like robotic drones:

"Yes, I am an American Air Pirate. I drop bombs and Napalm on the innocent and peace-loving women and children of the Glorious Vietnamese nation. I fully renounce everything the U.S. is doing in Vietnam. blah blah." But these "confessions" were only extracted after prolonged torture and abuse.

Often, they would sign these confessions with signatures like "Donald E. Duck" or "Mickey Mouse." The confessions would be shown in public, and the subsequent beatings, when the trick was discovered, were severe.

One clever pilot, Jeremiah Denton, was able to use his eyes to blink out the word T O R T U R E in morse code while he was giving his confession. Here's a video of it. Brilliantly done.

We were well-trained to resist this sort of thing. The Code of Conduct outlines what is expected of us as a prisoner. You are required to resist to the best of your ability, but what SEA taught us was that all humans will eventually crack under torture. It is impossible to resist. Books and movies that show a man being tortured to death rather than reveal a secret are fictitious. You will reach a point where you will say or do anything to make it stop.

Grossly misleading title. Wrong section. At least watch the video before posting. It's pretty old. And for your info, it's of a captured soldier in Afghanistan.
