I am also fed up of reading this BS of "resource" heaven status of Balochistan, I used to believe this BS until 4 years ago but then I got into stock market and started investing in mining companies, I have followed all kinds of news blogs about mining related stuff for years now. And based on my current knowledge about mining business practices I can safely say that Balochistan has zero importance as far as natural resources for vast majority of big players in the mining industry, there is nothing special in Balochistan that is not present in hundreds of other prime locations throughout the world. But the laymen who don't know any sh1t about mining business always make heavenly claims about Balochistan's "natural resources" as if it is an area with the world's largest proven oil, gas or any other strategic mineral reserves which it isn't and the international mining industry is drooling over it.

    Yes.
I have been painting out similar things only to be painted racist and anti Baloch.
They pay no taxes, don't want to pay utility bills, won't allow any mining projects in their province. Sandak gold is shining example. Balochistan messed it up, but Pakistan is paying the fines.
However they want all the development projects in their province like Lahore or even more.
From where the money for those development projects will come from?

It is due to their ignorance of modern capitalism based business model. There is no concept of free lunch in the capitalist system particularly for the common people of any society. In global capitalist business model if you want to get something you have to give something in exchange. But Balochistan is plagued with far-left communist movements which make them believe that "business" means that you give nothing but get everything for free from the state, that is the core issue in that area.

Sir you are partly true as QAU is a tough University until and unless you study for majority of courses you cannot pass them on other hand in few subjects bribes or unfair means are effective. It is utter negligence on part of our intelligence agencies that such people are active in such sensitive Universities. As people who know QAU location can get idea what I am saying. I have personally observed intelligence guys in University with walkie talkie as my wife is a graduate of this Uni and during her education visited the Uni regularly. Even in one defense related DSS course many people of armed forces get admission at QAU.

One of PU lecturer during a lunch informed that many students from KP and Baluchistan have got admitted in the name of harmony on quota system in PU and they are spreading their venom. They continuously threat other students and even are involved in violence. The university management is unable to control them. We should at least check the activities of such students. Moreover the ethnic councils like Sindhi, Punjabi or Baluch councils should be banned from universities.

Sir on limited scale not militancy but on ethnic grounds Sindhi people have remained involved in spy work for Raw or facilitators of terrorists. I have observed interview of one Hindu individual from Baluchistan in this regard. What about
    Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz.

Sir there are ethnicity based councils in QAU which are involved in violence mostly Pashtun Vs Punjabi, Sindhi Vs Punjabi aur Baluch vs others. The violence news seldom come out however poison is spreading day by day I am shocked to observe that even females discriminate each other on basis of ethnicity and QAU management is quite dumb. There should be lectures of nationalism and dialogue for harmony as well as strict security/intelligence check there. We must become proactive instead of reactive. You can confirm your self by visiting QAU. Even Afghani students clearly express their anti Pak views.

It is clear that poverty and police oppression was a factor into them becoming terrorists.

even local PhD is becoming a joke..

and lastly, most of the time-poor students dont make it to metric let alone to universities..i wounder what is there financial back ground

Baluchistan is not the major hydrocarbon producer in pakistan..its Sindh and KPK

and yes they get there royalties..though this is a recent development..before 18th amendments royalties were not given..same is true for hydro royalties..

Do they look deprived to you in any way? Govt provided them with every thing even education at the top university in Pakistan. This is not deprivation but the dollars that attract these people. These people get paid thousands of dollars just for killing bunch of laborers and then advertising it like some heroic fact. In the end no amount of help from govt will help these people bcz they learnt nothing from their education.

Can you elaborate on this and where you got the info?

It was never a military problem so defeating the BLA isn't a solution.

BLA's own statement, photo in the first posts, reading interview 7 editorial from the societies / study circles where they have been guest speakers....

some point in early 2010s i was working in Balochistan on different projects. Even last year my younger brother was working on a project in Harboi, the way he has narrated to me, it seems nothing has changed since i was there.

The issue is with their system, the problem lies with Tribal & Feudal system. As part of Social responsibility the organization i was working for paved black top roads in the area, they installed electricity poles & ran cables. But it did not go well with Sardar sb, he had his men take down the cables & sell them for some $$$$, electricity poles were taken down and sold seperately. The guys who destroyed this infrastructure were not outsiders, they were living in the same area. While men spent time at Sardar's dera & wandering the area, engaging in useless activities, their wives walked miles to get water & children played outside the broken huts...

They themselves don't want to alleviate their standard of living, what can state do about it.....as far as Police is concerned then local Police works along Sardar's too, been there seen that

Then there is only one thing to do and we all know that.... The problem is , we don't have the guts to get it to its logical conclusion. We half-*** things which then blow back.

State needs to enforce its laws. I.E. find the culprits who destroy states property and get them behind bars, not matter how big they are. Otherwise, problems like above will continue.

It can also be noted that this kind of behavior is intended to keep the status quo and run the mantra of state does nothing for us and in turn fuel insurgency based on dollars from the east.

Yes rule of law but that's one small part of the bigger puzzle; another one is to give people stake in the system. Merit based employments, investments in education, industries for educated, health care for their families. Everything will fall in line.

Merit is a big issue in Pakistan. It is also another cause for terrorism. And it is a bigger issue that is suppressing economic growth because you have inept people in positions they shouldn't be. Anyways, that's for a different topic.

It is all interconnected, Pakistan won't be able to solve this menace with security apparatus only. But yeah; it's a detailed topic for discussion.

I saw an interview few months back; the guy was an engineer with UET degree, couldn't find job for few years. Eventually ended up working in fields as a labourer. Another news i read a guy topper of his board, did engineering from GIKI with very good marks, couldn't find job, was from a very poor family, killed himself. So yeah, that's the ground situation for many graduates in Pakistan.

Killing people Left, Right and Center for their political views will create more problems for the country than addressing existing ones. Best course of action is to house-arrest these kind of people for indefinite period until they relent. This is humanitarian approach and will do the trick because these ultra-liberal types will not be able to come to the streets and organize such events afterwards.

Students are innocent on average until brainwashed by anti-state elements. Re-educating seemingly brainwashed students might work in the long-term.

Pakistan must strive for internal harmony and find better ways to address its internal problems.

    @Foxtrot Alpha

    Good Sir? What you say?
