Is there a problem with exchanging land for money? Russia sold Alaska; France sold Louisiana territory. More recently, Sri Lanka is giving Hambantota on a long lease. Same with Gwadar in Pakistan.

BTW, Bhutan is ready to giveaway land to China? Seriously?

China had proposed territory swap with Bhutan. Doklam is strategically significant for China & India, but not for Bhutan. Why would it have problem with swapping that for more fertile land? Bhutan has been essentially treated as a vassal state by India. It certainly would be natural for it to seek alternatives, especially after watching how Nepal has become less dependent upon India.
