You can do nothing about it though.

Our SAMs on ships for AAW are better than what the USN operates.
Have you taken weed??? SM-6/3/2 ESSM are better than what IN can field, you even don't have any thing like SM-2 block-3/4.

The Barak-8 and the upcoming Barak 8ER comfortably beat the ESSM and SM-2 combo on American ships. By a very significant margin. The Barak 8/ER is much smaller and lighter, hence more manoeuvrable, with dual thrust motors, and matches the range of the SM-2. Plus it has an active seeker, while the ESSM and SM-2 do not. The Barak basically provides better than ESSM performance at the SM-2's range.

We don't need SM-3, it's BMD. We do not face a direct missile threat from the sea yet. Our BMD is land focused for now.

As for SM-6, we have this coming up.

It's ramjet, as small as an air to air missile, and has the range to comfortably exceed the SM-6, while also being faster. The current ground launched version has a range of 300Km.

Not to mention, the MF-STAR is superior to the SPY-1 on the Arleigh Burkes.

You can argue it's not all deployed yet. We are not competing with the US anyway. Right now, Barak is sitting between the ESSM and SM-2. But Barak 8ER is already undergoing final testing, and will become available really soon. The IN calls it ERSAM. While the SFDR is also under tests right now.

Another massive benefit, the Barak and SFDR are so small that, unlike SM-2 and SM-6, we can quad pack these missiles in the same space as the SM-2/6. So the missile footprint on our destroyers will be extremely small, to the point where even much smaller ships will be able to carry these missiles, the SFDR in particular. We can add AEGIS equivalent AAW capability even on corvettes if necessary.

The American missiles are in fact completely outdated compared to ours.

'i know what am i talking about, 600 billion $$$$$$ country using out dated tech/missile and 60-70 billion $$$$$ country using better tech/missile than USN what a logic you have @randomradio :hitwall::crazy::hitwall::crazy::devil:
Yes, you get that when you're smart enough.

The US has nothing like the Meteor in the works. A ship launched Meteor will comfortably exceed the capability of any USN SAM. That's what the SFDR is, it's the Indian Meteor.

The Americans are using an outdated design.

ther no ship launch meteor in EU or IN @randomradio , currently Meteor is a long range air to air missiles not Naval SAMs most EU navies using either SM-2/3 or Aster-15/30 @randomradio their no Meteor based naval SAM on the horizon @randomradio :crazy::crazy:

Meteor can be easily converted into a SAM.

But in India's case, BOOM!

Desi Meteor SAM.

This will be ready in a few years. And will be far superior to both SM-2 and SM-6.

Barak can't intercept hypersonic AKG-400:p:;):enjoy: @randomradio
Yes, it can. This kind of missile is not a real threat to modern AAW ships. This missile design is from the 1950s.

and your navy have one more enemy PLAN which is Far far more advance than IN and quite comparable to USN @randomradio ;):enjoy:
Nope. Even PLAN have inferior missiles and radars compared to IN.

Right now, the most advanced AAW destroyers are Indian, French, Italian and British, primarily because of Barak and Aster.

All other navies, including PLAN and USN, use outdated missile designs that are very big and heavy. There is a generation difference between the outdated missiles and Barak/Aster in terms of design.
