Likely balancing act, US foreign secretary is also due in Dhaka soon or he visited already? The government probably already discussed with Chinese FM Wang Yi that they will have to say something like this.
So balancing act of country like bd is parroting washinton anti china pr.
Such a nation of poor character will forever amount to nothing .

@S10

Sure, if you decide not to pay, then we will take the collaterals you put up to secure that loan. I'm pretty sure it's all specified in the contract.

Try collecting your collaterals from BD or Pak for that matter.

Try collecting Hambantota for that matter from the Lankans.

Regards

They're both still paying so no need to collect yet. Thanks for the concern.

If they have any sense and would listen to me, they will stop paying.

What about Lanka? They are paying?

lol there is a UK guy high on his horse thinking everybody in this world has a duty to learn speaking and writing english.

Ahhahhah.

Dude, you need to stop thinking at a shallow level unless you want to end up on my "ignore" list.
Bangladesh will grow at 9-10% over the next 5 years which will aid reaching 100% literacy in no time. In 10 years, BD will have more English speakers than UK + Canada combined. You need to be more optimistic and pay attention to the discussions we are having here.

@UKBengali does a lot of research on our behalf.

He provides facts.

I like @Bilal9 he shines a light on the Hinduvta activities.

Watch the video link below to learn BD reserves may be below $11 billion. Why do you propagate for the BAL party? Are you not a patriot? It seems instead of patriotism you always parrot BAL lies.

Another nonsensical YouTube video!???

You are addicted to YouTube of cranks and nobodies!

In Japan, I saw the old type of loanshark who would extend a loan without asking you any difficult questions. But, when you default in repayment, the loanshark would send Hooligans to your house to threaten your family.

Finally, a day comes when they come to seize your daughters. The daughters will then be sold to brothels from where the loanshark is repaid from their earnings day and night.

The world thinks that China is a modern-day loanshark at the international level. China takes advantage of other countries' difficult situations and lures its leaders to take loans at high-interest rates.

Do you think it will continue long?
Japan is one weird and buggered up country.

That's because you're a unreliable Hindu with bad credit that any financial institution wouldn't touch with a 10 feet pole.

Did I mention China already secured 99 year managing stake in Hambantota port? Why not drink a cup of gomutra to calm yourself?

Nobody forced them the take out the loans.

"It's all China's fault! They gave me the money when nobody else wanted to and now I wasted it."

No bank gives out loans without checking viability of the project. Responsibility lies on both sides.

No I don't think China is a loan shark. But in coming years they are going to end up holding the bag for a whole lot of projects all over Asia and Africa.

China should refuse to finance and build this kind of money-losing project.

I don't think they care. They built an airport and a port in Sri Lanka in the middle of nowhere. Chinese control or not, those will remain underutilized for decades.

Who are you bloody mongrel? You are confined in Indian geographic boundary where you hate to be called an Indian, on the other hand you love to identify with the east Asians who consider you an Indian. A true mongrel with no identity.

Finance Minister Mostafa Kamal has a point when he opposed taking loans from China. Take one example of a Dhaka-Jessore railway project over the Padma Bridge that will cost $3.6 billion.

The Chinese loan component is $2.76 billion for this 169 km railroad. The Chinese interest rate is 6% per annum. I think the interest rate is too high for any loan.

At 6% interest, the yearly average interest will amount to about $165.6 million. I do not think BD should ask for this kind of loan from China that it cannot probably pay back in time.

I can assume that 50% of the interest money will be paid back annually to Hasina, Rehana, Joy Kumar, and other BAL thieves. Note that the usual Chinese interest rate is 3%. So, it is no issue if the Chinese company pays the balance to the BAL group.

Well, this is what this unpopular BAL party is doing to fill its insatiable greed.

Food for thought for you and @bluesky as you only seem to see bad for BD.

Bangladeshi leadership is being realistic at least.
You do realize Indians are buying cheap Russian oil and they are benefiting from it. In long run India will be ok. They also have very diversified economy.

If the war continues which will things for bd will only get worse like it or not.

artificial dollar take exchange just to show high per capita income is just dumb. taka lost 50 percent value in open market and it’s only the beginning. With artificial high taka Middle East labourers get cheated and money laundering get a huge win as they get subsidized dollar by bd government.

We didn’t even see the worse yet. Once re payment comes you will see. Bd is same as Pakistan just the timing issue sooner or later it’s heading same way.

If you are smart better sell bd assets and convert to dollar and get the **** out of bd. Or just see ur asset value go down to toilet.

In reality, BD has no real foreign policy except to appease Delhi especially when the BAL party is in power.

People say it is a balancing act and a great policy the world must learn from BD. But this meek policy has been unable to repatriate Rohingya to Arakan.
