I never said they would attack you. But for sure you would be facing three fronts. Eventually tensions would escalate. This Hasina Modi chemistry won't last long. The moment they start doing serious build up of their Air Force and also to some extent Army and then add new submarines also. Trust me it would create big issues. This relationship would only last until Bangladesh doesn't build up its Air Force. The moment that happens you can say it good bye. You are also forgetting growing China's influence in Bangladesh.
We'll see to it if that ever comes to that. Current Bd also has mig-29s that are no pushovers but don't think we are worrying over that. Like I said live and let live, if we don't attack BD I see no reason why we should be worried. Defensive build up is every countries right. Unless BD actually joins Chinese camp and uses it's armed forces to serve their Interests we shouldn't have any problem with a neutral BD.

BD population is not anti-Indian and there is little support to join with China against India and the US.

BD will remain a neutral state but will build up its defensive capabilities with India the only credible threat to it.

India will never realistically attack BD as it gains nothing and this is BD just taking precautions in a remote unlikely event and to beef up its sovereignty.

If it hasn't been made abundantly clear by now, Bangladesh is not interested in military conflict with anyone.

Rather it focuses on the development of its people and of course many of its politicians filling their own pockets.

At the core, Bengalis are lovers not fighters.

Back on topic.

If this comes true then this will have made the frustrating delay to the signing of the contract worthwhile as BD will not get a more reliable supplier than Turkey.

This benefits both BD and also helps Turkey get the economies of scale to keep developing its technologies in the military field.

Although only 3000 tonnes, it packs a punch with 64 MRSAMs and that is overkill for Myanmar and a credible defence against India. With its 8 anti-ship cruise missiles and sonar/ torpedo it is a very balanced frigate.

The ships have been designed to perform anti-air as well as anti-surface warfare missions
Bangladesh Navy, which is looking to buy new frigates, may procure Istanbul-class frigates from Turkish company STM, despite offers from China, Netherlands and Italy, according to defseca.com.
In that case, a contract has to be signed between the governments of the two countries, following which Chittagong Shipyard will work with Istanbul Shipyard or STM for the supply of six such guided missile frigates in compliance with Bangladesh Navy’s needs, the site reported.
Developed under the MILGEM Turkish warship program, the Istanbul-class is a new generation of frigates.
Also referred to as TF100 and TF2000, the Istanbul-class frigates have been designed to carry out anti-air warfare missions, carrying ESSM missiles, as well as anti-surface ones, reports Navy Recognition, a popular online media that covers global naval news.

The ship is 113.2m in length, has a beam of 14.4m, a draft of 4.05m and a displacement of 3,000 tons.
It is powered by a Codag (combined diesel and gas) type main propulsion system with two two shafts and CPP propellers. The frigate can reach a top speed of 29 knots (54 km/h) with a maximum cruising range of 5,700 nautical miles at 14 knots (26km/h). The Istanbul-class frigate has an operational capability of 15 days without being refuelled. The ship’s arsenal includes one 76mm main gun, two 25mm stabilized guns, one close-in weapon system, torpedo launchers, electronic warfare suit and hull mounted sonar, according to STM’s website. Bangladesh Navy currently operates two submarines, 115 surface ships, craft and boats, including five guided missile frigates, two patrol frigates, six guided missile corvettes, 38 minor surface combatants of various types, 30 auxiliaries and amphibious landing craft and thirty-two small response boats, according to Wikipedia.

Seems Myanmar is also building new Frigates of 135m length, though there seems to be a lack of details online for this one. Bangladesh is surely keeping a keen watch and will try to match or exceed the capability.

Myanmar lacks the money to keep up with BD.

It may have the size but will lack the sensors and armament of BD frigates.

BN is far more powerful than MN and it will stay this way.

I think there were reports that BN is planning on LHDs right? Or was it a LPD? Myanmar has acquired a 10k+ tonnes LPD and is it's flagship, to exceed it BN with a LHD can field basically a carrier battle group. That will provide power projection capabilities too if BD requires in future. Don't know if it fits into BD navy doctrine for the time being though, maybe a LPD is in the cards?

This is Economies of scale, as a fair few ships will be built from this line.
Pakistan is also going down this route.

The kind of build up you are doing. If you do same with your Air Force and Army trust me big forces with weapons. The escalation and conflict becomes inevitable.

16 cruise missiles in a 3000 tonne frigate? That's impressive for sure. Our Shivalik and Nilgiri class carry only 8 Brahmos cruise missiles and they are 6000+ tonnes.
As Replacememt of the current frigates or addition to the fleet?

12 frigates + 5 subs will + 8 corvettes will make IN cry any day.

Burma wont even leave the port.
A potent force for sure, IN currently operates 13 frigates, but such buildup takes time.
